There is a warning here at ocean beach all the time warning people of rip currents and sneaker waves and if you are not an experienced swimmer not to approach this ocean because it is kind of a challenging beach here. Waves are up to 9 feet here just south of us. They were up to 11 feet. Thats overhead Double Overhead but they could get up to 20 feet. Of course, thats why that beach hazard statement has been issued. They are basically saying days like this its not safe to walk your dog out here because of the threat of those sneaker waves.
