This fire broke out at about 2 30 and grew very quickly. It is now 2500 acres. It is only 5 contained. Firefighters will get a better handle of exactly what kind of containment they have once the sun is up. It is burning on both sides of tesla road between livermore and tracy. If you are familiar with the areas the carnegie motocross park was evacuated. One building has burned. The fire is ripping through the dry grass and trees. Firefighters have been struggling to keep up. They are aggressive where they have to be aggressive and at times they are supported by air and dozer operations. Reporter the fire is burning right now in two counties, alameda and san joaquin county. No homes have been evacuated so far. We are going to get an update from firefighters on where things stand later on this morning around 8 00. Live in san joaquin county, anne makevoc, kpix 5. Three firefighters have been killed battling the outof control twist fire in Washington State. This flag one of many now flying at halfstaff in honor of the firefighters who died. Investigators believe the crew was involved in a crash and thats when the fire overtook their vehicle. Were trained to do a job. And, you know, theres just times uhm when, you know, some things go bad but the fight still has to go on. Thousands of people have now been evacuated. President obama has asked federal funds to be sent to the state to help out. People are gather at a Memorial Service for Contra Costa County sheriffs Deputy Carlos francies. He drowned during an off day last week as he tried to rescue a friend in lake tahoe. Investigators say francies was with a group kayaking in and paddle boarding on the lake when a friend was struggling in the water. Todays service will be in sacramento where he lived. A highspeed chase ends in arrests in San Francisco this morning. Investigators say a woman was driving erratically in hayward, and wouldnt pull over. They chased her all the way across the bay bridge through the streets of San Francisco. Eventually she ditched the car near fremont and market streets and tried to run away. Officers arrested her for suspicion of dui. And anger erupting in st. Louis after another fatal police shooting. Early yesterday police chief sam dotson says officers shot an 18yearold after he ran from a home and pointed a gun at officers. The police were forced to use tear gas to disperse protestors and so far at least nine people have been arrested. As officers approached them, asked them to leave the intersection, glass bottles started to be thrown at officers, bricks were thrown, officers had to use shields. The teen is maurice ball bey. The investigation into the shooting continues this morning. New security video shows the force behind an explosion in washington. You can see part of the motel 6 collapsed as its jolted by the blast. The force threw firefighters back several feet and left a gas Company Worker critically injured. The motels manager smelled gas and evacuated the buildings just minutes before that explosion. New this morning, a group of mosquitos tested positive for west nile virus in martinez. Mosquitos also tested positive in oakley. So far this season, though, no humans have contracted the disease. Three birds found in oakley, danville and Pleasant Hill have also tested positive for the virus. They are going to spray the area on friday. Stated lawmakers are working on a plan to fix our aging roads. Many are supporting legislation to generate 4 billion a year for repairs. The money would come from a 12 cent per gallon tax and raise registration fees to 100 Surveillance Video they hope will help find a man who committed an Armed Robbery in San Francisco. Video shows the robber pulling a gun on a gas station clerk and cleaning out the cash drawer. The robber used a north face jacket to cover his face on august 8 on Junipero Serra boulevard. The clerk was uninjured. Developing now, tensions escalating in north and south korea as rockets are fired across the border. A defense official says south korea detected the rocket as it was fired toward a western province. Thats when south korea fired back. Tensions spiked on the Korean Peninsula after two south korean soldiers were seriously wounded by land mines. South korea has accused the north of planting the minus. Investigators in thailand say as many as 10 people may have played a role in the deadly attack earlier this week. Officers have singled out one main suspect identifying him from security footage. Now san jose state is scrambling to find them all housing. The older Residence Halls were designed for two people a room and now there are three cramming in. Other on Campus Housing has a 400person wait list. 33,000 students are enrolled at san jose state this year. The first email from april 2011 was forwarded to clinton by aide huma aberdeen. It cited intelligence reports from the u. S. Africa command on libyan troop strength and movements. The second one forwarded by another aide outlined report of possible arrests in connection with the benghazi attack. The emails are among the some 30,000 clinton turned over to the state department from her private server. Clinton has insisted there was no classified information on her server. Whether it was a personal account or a government account, i did not send classified material and i did not receive any material that was marked or designated classified, which is the way you know whether something is.
