Colin montgomerie is one of 8 players tied for the lead because of shots like this at 11. He is at 5under. His play was halted after 12 holes in the second round. From that we go to the pga the canadian open. Jason day one shot out of the playoff and the british open on monday shot a 6under 66 today four shots off the lead. Chad campbell on the par four sixth settles nice and close to the cup. Nice one. Campbell birdied the holeshot a 9under 63 leads by two shots going into the weekend. You know what . When a pro golfer and his or her caddy get into it, it does not end well. Let me tell you the story about Robert Allenby and his cal did i in the canadian open thursday round. In this one boy its really a strange one. For this one, allenby had an argument, a heated one, fired this fella middlemo after nine holes both pointing at each other for the blame. Allenby still had nine holes left to play so he picked a fan from the gallery to carry the bag to finish the round. He shot an 81 and withdrew from the tournament. Still a pretty good story for one lucky fan. So i just raised my hand up and a said oh, ill carry your clubs, robert. And my buddy said he is a golfer. Not a very good one but anyway he said yeah, come on in. You know, so he invited me inside the ropes and just started carrying his bag and i said just show me the ropes tell me what to do where to stand and off we went. The whole front nine. Yeah. So you put up your hand and said ill caddy for you he says come on. Did you think he was serious . I thought it was a long shot. But i said id offer my services. But it all worked out and now all of a sudden i was working down the first fairway with him and he actually birdied the first hole and i thought that was a good start. Reporter hey, look under this bench, folks. Thats a 10foot alligator in the visiting dugout of the Daytona Tortugas minor league balls this one left by the charlotte stone crabs as a surprise when they got to the game. The gator was removed and released into a nearby pond. And perhaps well get that outcome by the end of the night. So that will do it for from this ballpark here. You got the giants. They are making the dodgers nervous. So they are contending. But the oakland as for everything they have been through, they are 52 in interleague play. Thats the second best record in the majors and the as lead this series head to head 5347. Take some of those numbers and chew on it back in studio. A lot of history there. All right, vern. Thanks.
