Another photo shows an established fireline there. The lights of the fire trucks shining on the huge cloud of smoke. People in winters certainly feeling the effects of the fire. Last night, there was so much smoke in the air people needed masks to breathe. Ash from the fire rained down covering streets and cars. So much its clouding visibility on the road, as well. Reporter ill tell you what the wind is still pretty strong out here, slightly less intense than yesterday but still were seeing widespread wind gusts out by the Nut Tree Airport at 20 to 25 miles per hour. He want to show you the smoke plume. Its interesting. Its more of a build from left to right on your screen. Thats the movement. Its not going up because whats common this time of year is a temperature inversion kind of like a ceiling in the atmosphere. A couple of thousand feet up. All the smoke hits that wall and its shoved off to the north and east by the predominant southwest wind. It is wendy and wind will still be an issue it is windy and wind will be an issue trying to end the wragg fire over the next couple of days. You can see the plume of smoke on kpix 5. Time lapse mode there it is to the east of lake berryessa. Thats not rainfall. Thats the smoke being picked up by our radar which is not too far. Its on the top of mount vaca only about 10 miles away from the actual fire. Your fire forecast, the winds will change directions over the next 12 hours and set up a southwesttonortheast wind. It will be a westtoeast wind. Still gusty overnight tonight. Gusting 15 to 20 miles per hour. The good news is, as High Pressure makes its approach tomorrow, we will see the winds gradually relax and tomorrow will not be as windy as today. It will not be as windy as yesterday. The wind gusts will be down to 15 miles per hour. Back out here live plenty of smoke being blown from the southwest to the northeast. Hayward police say estrada will be transferred into their custody once he is released from the hospital where he is being treated for gunshot wounds. Neighbors at the familys oakland home didnt want to talk on camera but said they were quiet, hard working and kept to themselves and said they never would have imagined their son would be accused of a crime as brutal as Sergeant Scott lungers death. Once again, the Hayward Police department is asking for the publics help to identify the driver of a car that was seen dropping estrada off at the hospital. Its mission to find earth like planets. Today, nasa says they found one. But this is the first such planet discovered orbiting a star very much like our own sun. They believe the temperatures may be similar even at 1,400 lightyears away. This is the closest sun earth twin we have discovered in the history of humanity. This gave the scientists enough data to calculate the planets approximate size and that it circles the sun about the same as an earth year and it may be rocky.
