Were looking at this continue to wreak havoc with flooding, and winds at 50 miles an hour and west palm still at 60 to 70 miles an hour for the next several hours. Back home its about the heat. Do not think this storm is over when the wind slows down. The storm surge will rush in and could kill you. Reporter the storm surge especially a concern along the gulf coast. In naples it could be as high as 15 feet. Irma sucking water out of tampa bay before its sent rushing back in. Mike tyson once said, everybody has a plan until they get punched in the face. Reporter johns power has been out for hours, but he does have a generator. He lives just outsides the mandatory evacuation zone and chose to stay put, but many of his neighbors got out days ago. Im going to be honest, cornell, had i had it do do all over again, i would have left town on wednesday. Were looking at sleeping arrangements that were housed in the gymnasium. Reporter Tech Sergeant shows us accommodations for some members at the california Air National Guard at moffett field, now staging in northern florida. An East Palo Alto Police Officer is in stable condition after an attempting carjacking off duty. Investigators are looking for the suspect. San francisco firefighters are remembering one of their own who died on the job early this morning. Other firefighters found battalion chief Terry Smerdel unresponsive inside his office. Tonight police are looking for the shooter who killed a popular deejay and member of San Franciscos lbgtq district, Anthony Torres died in the tenderloin district. Reporter Everyone Wants to know what led up to the shooting, wondering if torres was the victim of a hate crime. The best thing in the neighborhood. Reporter the community is shocked off the shooting death of Anthony Torres, also known as bubbles. He was well known in the Transgender Community and beyond as activist, artist and deejay. He would often play music in the tenderloin. He would come out with turn tables and sound system. He always wore wild drag. Never talked to him but i loved him. He was great. Just brought a lot of energy to the neighborhood. This is an exciting block, so he brought the excitement. But this is terrible. Reporter San Francisco police say torres was shot at 2 50 a. M. Saturday. They havent identified a suspect but members of the Community Say the shooter emerged in the new century strip club. Walked across the street where torres was making music and open fire. They say at this point it doesnt appear to be a hate crime but those who knew and loved him are encouraging investigators to leave no stone unturned. People are upset that bubbles, someone who was loved for his activism, his art and for how forgiving he was would be gunned down in these streets in the tenderloin, which is supposed to be a neighborhood thats accepting and supportive of transgender individuals. Hurricane irma and harvey, which hit texas early this morning, this is the first time two category 2 storms have made landfall in the same year. Harvey will have an impact on texas for years to come. Its even being felt in the bay area every time you fill up. The jump in gas prices coming up. Plus, double trouble for a skunk trapped in two traps leads to a ple Hurricane Irma has forced gas prices to spike because of refinery closures in texas. The average price of regular gasoline was up 30 cents, 48 cents higher than a. The most expensive gas in the nation is in the city of San Francisco. 3. 21 a gallon.
