In an interview on cbss 60 minutes sunday, President Biden continued to pledge his unwavering support for israel, while condemning hamas. The most important thing is ending this brutality and hold those accountable. Make clear that the United States stands with israel to prevent the conflict from spreading. Reporter as the fighting continues, the humanitarian crisis is getting worse. As you heard brie mention, there is safe passage for americans out of tel aviv into israel this morning, and foreigners with foreign passports are allowed to leave from gaza as well. We do know that there are about 600 americans in gaza still, according to the state department. Thousands of other american citizens are leaving israel for cypress today, and the u. S. Government is only arranging travel out of israel. After that, passengers are on their own to make it back home to the states. Our nbc bay area colleague, Edwin Alvarado is among the americans who made it out, but not yet home. He is now in columbia, thanks to the Columbian Air force, which picked him and other passengers up, headed to portugal, the dominican republic, and finally to columbia, where he is originally from. It has been an excruciating wait to get out. When i get out, i see family members, family waiting for their loved ones, its hard. Its hard when you feel the fear of you can be killed any second. Reporter now, other families were reunited in tampa, florida, where almost 300 americans arrived stateside. They were able to make it out of tel aviv. Kari is back, nice and refreshed from a nice time off. I actually got to meet e40 during my time off. That was really cool. So it was really cool seeing that, and also the cooler temperatures that we have for a little while. Now were going to be heating up. Were going to be talking a lot about that. Lets get you started this dublin as we get started, and its a clear morning here. Were going to start to see more clouds coming in and temperatures going from mid50s to the low 70s as we head toward noon. So its going to be overall a very mild day, only reaching about 78 degrees. All of these numbers about normal for this time of year, with upper 70s expected in novato and 79 expected in concord, low 80s in san martin today. Tomorrow, notice these numbers going up a few degrees. Napa headed for 82 degrees, well be in the low 70s in San Francisco, and well see some upper 70s for hayward. 78 degrees in mountain view. Then on wednesday, it gets even hotter, and well be cranking back up that ac once again as we head up for 93 degrees in morgan hill, and well reach a high of 90 in santa rosa on wednesday. But we also have this symptom approaching and we can see the rain thats just starting to enter the far northwestern corner of california, as it heads toward the north bay later on this afternoon, theres still a chance that there could be spotty light showers moving through. It just looks like a few sprinkles, maybe a few hundredths of an inch of rain. The rest of the bay area is staying mostly cloudy. After that, the heat will build as High Pressure starts to develop across the region, and then it starts to fade fairly quickly. So the spike in temperatures dont last very long, and thens with approach next week, there could be a pretty good chance of rain as we head toward next wednesday. So thats well beyond the sevenday forecast. As we stretch it out ten days, we have a big range in temperatures, going from upper 70s in san jose today, to 95 degrees on thursday, and then its coming back down. So by the weekend its still feeling pretty nice, but we have to deal with the heat coming in midweek. Mike, youre seeing some changes at the richmondsan rafael bridges. We dont have the trucks blocking the lanes, we still have right lanes blocked. Notice a cement barrier. Theres no chance theyre going to reopen those lanes in the near future. Were looking at more funneling of traffic down. We still have these four lanes that are open as youre traveling west from richmond toward san rafael, and folks will have to get used to that for the time being. Everything is fine, except for if you have an extra wide load and you know the vehicles carrying that, theyre advised of their category and they can no longer travel across the bridge. Passenger trucks, box trucks and semis are able to get through. The other bridges are moving smoothly. New beginnings for the Kelly Clarkson show. As we get started with a live look outside in san jose, it is mostly clear and we are going to see those temperatures in fremont as you head to work in the mid50s to start.
