Featuring the 8g band with rick smith [ cheers and applause and now, Seth Meyers Seth good evening, im seth meyers. And this is late night. We hope youre all doing well and now if you dont mind, were going to get to the news President Biden spoke to Britains King Charles yesterday for the First Time SinceQueen Elizabeths passing. I cant believe you waited your entire life for this lousy job, said both of them at the same time [ laughter ] a possible National Railroad strike was averted today after 20 hours of talks between the unions leadership and labor negotiators from the railroads 20 hours of talks that were very annoying to everyone else in the quiet car. [ laughter ] [ laughter ] House Speaker nancy pelosi told reporters at her press conference yesterday that she expects democrats to introduce legislation next month to regulate stock trading among members of congress. Or as she told her stockbroker, sell [ laughter ] according to a new book, then white house chief of staff john kelly was so angry when former President Trump refused to lower the flag after republican senator john mccain died that he told trump, when you die, the public will come to your grave and piss on it. [ laughter ] and if you think the line to see the queen is long [ laughter ] according to the same book according to the same book, were just book reports. [ laughter ] this is nothing here is political. Were just reporting on a book [ laughter ] according to the same book, the heir to Cosmetics Company estee lauder suggested to former President Trump that the u. S buy greenland. It would have been the first time trump listened to a cosmetics employee [ laughter ] former President Trump visited his Virginia Golf Club this week as it reportedly undergoes renovations ahead of a saudibacked liv Golf Tournament he also helped oversee packing vip gift bags. [ laughter ] a man in kansas recently set a Guinness World record for largest collection of Kansas City Chiefs memorabilia with more than 1,000 pieces. While a man in cleveland set a browns memorabilia record with two. [ laughter ] starbucks yesterday announced a new growth plan which will add thousands of new u. S. Stores dont believe me look behind you. [ laughter ] pretty nice living room. [ laughter ] the pilot of a rescue helicopter that reportedly left behind a stranded hiker said that he thought the man was just waving hi [ laughter ] even worse, the hiker was actually waving at another helicopter behind him. [ laughter ] and finally, singer adele this week put her Beverly Hills mansion up for sale. She said she has a lot of happy memories in the house which explains why weve never heard a song about it. And that was a closer [ laughter ] that was the monologue, everybody. [ cheers and applause we got a great show for you tonight. Here to chat about their new apple tv plus docuseries, gutsy, hillary and Chelsea Clinton will be joining us, everybody. How about that [ cheers and applause and she is a brilliant comedian who stars in a league of their own on prime video and peacocks would it kill you to laugh . Our friend kate berlant is here, everybody. [ cheers and applause but before we get to all that, the Justice Department subpoenaed Donald Trumps former chief of staff mark meadows. And meadows is reportedly complying with that subpoena, making him the highestranking trump official so far to respond to a federal subpoena in the criminal investigation of the attempted coup on january 6th. There are bombshell new Text Messages in a very bizarre scandal involving former nfl quarterback and trump supporter brett favre that reveal just how corrupt the conservative movement has become. For more on this, its time for a closer look. [ cheers and applause seth you know, it took, like, two full years but it really seems like the Justice Department is finally kicking it into gear when it comes to these trump investigations theyre seizing phones, sending out dozens of subpoenas, and executing search warrants. I dont know what changed. Merrick garland used to seem like one of those movie detectives on Cruise Control because he was only a month away from collecting a pension. And now hes like a renegade cop on a harley in a Leather Jacket who kicks in doors and holds perps out windows while hissing you can either tell me what happened, or your brains can tell the pavement. [ laughter ] the point is the dojs trump investigation seems to be rapidly intensifying for example, yesterday, we told you a well, a truly heartwarming story about a delightful young man named mike lindell who had his phone seized by the fbi while he was at a hardees drivethru as he explained in a video the fbi agents at the scene told him not to talk about it, but he did anyway the fbi came after me and took my phone they surrounded me at a hardees and took my phone that i run all my business, everything with they could have just what theyve done is weaponize the fbi. Um, its disgusting. I dont have a computer. Everything i do, i have that phone. Everything was on there. And and they told me not to tell anybody heres an order not to dont tell anybody. Okay, i wont. [ laughter ] well, i am so, there you go seth well, that is just the kind of recklessness i would expect from a 61yearold man who eats at hardees [ laughter ] also, i doubt that paper says the words, dont tell anybody. Its an order from the fbi, not a note passed in fifth grade hey, later tonight were all meeting up at dead mans curve so we can search mikes phone for evidence [ bleep ] dont tell anybody. I bet that piece of paper isnt even an order from the fbi in fact, if you zoom in, you can see its actually just a letter from hardees that reads, your behavior was rude. Your voice was too loud. You were in the drivethru without a car and as our staff repeatedly told you, you cannot bring a pillowcase and demand to be filled with breakfast sausages please do not patronize this establishment again. [ laughter ] but also, when we first played this clip yesterday, there was a very revealing detail i glossed over, and want to revisit. Everything i do, i have that phone. Everything was on there. Seth it was . Well then, i guess jackpot, fbi. [ laughter ] usually, you need to raid multiple offices and homes and sift through every box, closet and drawer you can find for hours. But not with mike lindell. Yeah, i keep it all on my motorola flip. Texts, call logs, list of crimes, both completed and plans and all my picture i dont trust the cloud or any clouds because they look like big fluffy pillows but in reality, theyre filled with the air. [ laughter ] now, you might, you might be wondering which of the many trump investigations the lindell raid was specifically related to well, its a very bizarre and complicated story, but basically, federal agents apparently wanted to know more about lindells potential connections to a plot concocted by a protrump clerk in mesa county, colorado named tina peters, who was indicted earlier this year, for election tampering among other things basically, peters wanted to prove that the 2020 election was tampered with and in the process she herself allegedly tampered with election equipment by breaching voting machines. Peters obtained copies of election information, which later wound up online according to an indictment to perpetrate the scheme peters allegedly used a local i. T. Consultants id card without his knowledge pete h been charged with three misdemeanors, and seven felonies, including conspiracy to commit criminal impersonation and Identity Theft imagine being wily enough to impersonate an i. T. Consultant, and then dumb enough to be in cahoots with mike lindell. [ laughter ] mike, its tina the feds are on to me. But dont worry, ive encrypted each and every one of our communications and put them behind multiple firewalls. Good to hear, tina. I got everything you ever said to me on the one phone and also, i put you in my five under crime tina. [ light laughter ] so, at this point, one can only assume the Justice Department already has it at its disposal a wealth of information related to the coup attempt on january 6th. The very figures involved in it and the machinations that led up to it. Especially after the newest revelations that we learned last night that trumps former chief of staff mark meadows has also been subpoenaed and has responded to that subpoena we are learning that former Trump White House chief of staff mark meadows has complied with a subpoena from the Justice Departments investigation into events surrounding january 6th so, this makes him the highest ranking trump official, Trump Administration official thats known to have responded to a subpoena in this federal investigation. So far, mark meadows, the president former President Trumps chief of staff has complied with a doj subpoena by turning over documents. The same documents that he turned over to the january 6th committee. Seth wow, even trumps former chief of staff is turning over documents now, and this is a guy, by the way, who is by all accounts always on his phones. In july, he was spotted Walking Around d. C. While reporters shouted questions at him about the january 6th hearing, and for the most part, refused to look up from his phone. He looks like me when my kids are demanding to go to the beach. Yeah, sure, sure. We can go to the beach i just need to set my fantasy lineup and check out the new memes and i want to see instagram ads from Sneaker Companies that only exist on instagram ads. [ laughter ] of course, the only thing stranger than meadows refusal to look up from his phone was the fact that he was wearing a fleece outdoors in july. Do you know how hot it was in july it was so hot that during one show, i wore a sweater and nothing else [ light laughter ] you just couldnt see it because of the desk, although it was a little jarring when i got up to greet the guests [ light laughter ] now, you might remember meadows as the guy who was in many ways at the center of the attempted coup who among other things arranged various couprelated meetings and sent seeing conspiracy theories about vote tampering and the Justice Department but meadows was also, according to the people around him, extremely checked out in the days leading up to the insurrection former trump aide Cassidy Hutchinson recalled after Rudy Giuliani told her about the plan to march to the capital, she asked questions about that plan and meadows once again did not even look up from his phone. After mr. Giuliani had left the campus that evening, i went back up to our office and i found mr. Meadows in his office on the couch scrolling through his phone. I remember leaning against the doorway and saying, i just had an interesting conversation with rudy, mark sounds like were going to go to the capitol. He didnt look up from his phone, and said something to the effect of, theres a lot going on, cass, but i dont know things might get real, real bad on january 6th. Seth man, this dude was checked out like a substitute teacher showing his class, amadeus, on laser disk the day before summer break. Hey, mr. Meadows, we learning anything today . You can learn what happens to the human spirit when youre forced to toil in the shadow of a childish showoff. [ laughter ] also, youre all getting an f. An f. Murray abraham, that is. [ laughter and applause oh, ill wait until it gets what it deserves. [ laughter ] although in fairness, that is probably the one and only moment from all the january 6th hearings that i related to if i had sold my soul to donald trump and was facing a lifetime of criminal exposure and historical disgrace, i too would check the [ bleep ] out. I would have one of those giant costco containers of cheese balls, except be filled with xanax. [ laughter ] so, virtually, everyone in trumps orbit from his chief of staff to his weird pillow friend is under investigation now if it feels to you like every story you hear about the Republican Party in the conservative movement is about the deep rot of corruption at the heart of gop institutions, thats because its true and to drive the point home, theres a truly insane story that were learning more about this week that captures the fundamental truth about just how corrupt and morely bankrupt conservative government this has become the story involves retired quarterback and dungarees pitch man brett favre, millions of dollars that were supposed to help poor people in the countrys poorest state, and a shadowy deal to build a volleyball facility. New Court Documents filed this week include Text Messages that appear to show mississippis former governor helping nfl hall of Famer Brett Favre secure millions to build a volleyball facility, money that came from funds meant for needy families in one of the nations poorest states the texts appear to show the former Governor Phil Bryant helping favre secure millions to build a volleyball facility at his alma mater, university of southern mississippi and mind you, his daughter also played volleyball there. Now the money was allegedly earmarked though for Family Welfare programs at the state. Again, this is federal money for welfare for poor mississippians going to a volleyball facility that brett favres daughters going to play in the woman who ran the nonprofit, nancy new, reportedly coughed up 4 million in misused welfare money. And when that was not enough, she then allegedly paid favre, brett favre, millionaire brett favre an additional 1. 1 million personally to him supposedly for radio ads paid for out of a fund for welfare recipients seth now remember, this is the same state, mississippi, thats also been facing a disastrous water crisis affecting the majority black city of jackson. And yet, the states republicans are so cartoonishly corrupt they stole money set aside for poor people and gave it to a multimillionaire nfl quarterback. I think his punishment from this point forward, favre should not be remembered for his 16 seasons with green bay packers, but for his 1 season with the new york jets im sorry, brett [ laughter ] actions have consequences. [ cheers and applause although it should be noted, they did win the super bowl that year [ light laughter ] i mean, they went 97, but thats like a super bowl for the jets [ laughter ] you know, sometimes we have International Viewers who leave comments for me and they say we really dont like these jets jokes because obviously, we dont get them. So just let me explain its going to take a minute. And i apologize for taking time out of the day [ laughter ] football is a sport. The jets are [ bleep ] at football [ laughter ] but the craziest part of the scandal is that favre turns to be just as dumb as all the other corrupt weirdos in trumps orbit. Because as the deal was happening, he apparently wrote a text message explaining that he was concerned people would find out it was happening texts show favre was worried about how it might look. He wrote, if you were to pay me, is there any way the media can find out where it came from and how much . [ laughter ] seth yeah. Yeah, dude, theres a way. I love that hes asking if it could ever go public via a text that eventually went public. [ laughter ] was the next text, would hate for this to be a screen grab one day that they show on the news to help document our activities. This is the rot and the moral bankruptcy of conservative governments at its core. This is the same movement thats held that on dismantling democracy and installing themselves as unelected rulers and apparently, while they were all engaged in various scandals and criminal schemes, they were texting each other about those scandals and criminal schemes and telling each other dont tell anybody. [ laughter ] seth this has been a closer look. [ cheers and applause well be right back with hillary and Chelsea Clinton. [ laughter ] seth please welcome back to the show hillary and Chelsea Clinton, everyone. [ cheers and applause seth welcome back, im so happy to have you both here. We are so we are happy to be here oh, my gosh, yes, hi. [ cheers and applause seth im outloved with my happiness. I just got to ask right away having seen the clip which is, be honest, which is harder, front of hose or back of hose, because front of hose, yeah okay, thank you and who actually got to put on all the gear seth yeah. I feel like that would maybe a giveaway that your job is more like a fire person yes, thank you. They didnt even ask my mom. Seth really . She didnt even have to turn them down. They jus didnt seth now would you have turned them down if they had said, you want to fire fight, dont you . No, i would not have turned them down. She would have said, my daughter. Thats right. We did that all through the series, which was so incredibly fun for us to do together. And there would be all these activities because we didnt want to just have the usual interview show and the guests said the activities we said to the guests, what should we do . So, when we knew we were going to go out to the Training Academy for the Fire Department of new york to interview these incredible women firefighters, including one of the very first who was really a pioneer, we got out there and said, oh, so what do you want to do, you know, she said, well, we want you to put on the gear and we wont put all the gear on you, well only put 50 pounds of the gear on you. And i said, you know, my daughter would really like to do that. True story, true story. [ laughter ] [ applause ] seth well, i think, you know, anytime, you know, a parent can travel with a child, its a you know, its a gift. Yes seth especially when theyre Adult Children right seth that makes a huge difference that makes a very big difference seth i wonder how traveling now together is compared to your time traveling together as members of the first family, is it massively different well, i mean, its just regular most of the time we just get on airplanes at like laguardia, or newark, or jfk, and go to wherever were going to go. Now, to be fair, i still do have secret service because i was once first lady. So thats a little different because we can count on getting a car and not standing at the rental car counter wondering whether were going to get a car, you know. Seth is there ever a secret Service Agent looking at his phone saying, the uber, its so weird, because it said five and now it says eight. [ laughter ] were going to really talk to them when they get here, yes it was so much fun it also was similar, seth, in the way that weve always had a lot of fun together, weve always wanted to have new experiences together my parents have thankfully been always not only encouraging but expecting me to be curious about people and new experiences and the world. And so in some ways this felt like a continuation, and also different because, you know, i was old enough to have a drink with my mom at the end of the day. Which i wasnt 30 years ago. [ light laughter ] seth right thats very true. Seth and i would imagine, too, because of the life that youve lived, you have to make pretty extreme choices to find yourself in a new experiences, which you did in paris we did, we did in paris, yes. Seth so hillary, im going to share a photo oh, come on seth in the moment this happened, you on screen what have i gotten myself into . Seth i think this still catches that exact moment. [ laughter ] well, the red nose that launched a thousand right wing memes. Seth exactly im already using it as a meme in response to texts from my wife [ laughter ] well, im always glad to be of service and you know when it was suggested that we go to paris to clown school, because we were doing an a whole episode about women are funny, like women get the last laugh because when i was growing up everybody said, oh, women arent funny and i said, well, i watch i love lucy all the time, i think shes really funny. Seth yeah. And so, we said, okay, well go. But i have to confess, i was pretty skeptical it was one of the most amazing experiences. Talk about experiences i did not have as first lady seth this is the clown school going to clown school, yeah, yeah [ laughter ] i felt like i was like in a comic all the time but i wasnt actually wearing a red nose when i was first lady seth that must be like when somebody comes over to you with a thing of seltzer, that must be tricky for secret service. Yeah, that seth is this clowning, is this an attack put the seltzer in the back but there we were literally on the stage of the moulin rouge actually taking a clowning lesson and people like Sacha Baron Cohen and emma thompson, people you know have gone to this clowning school we think you should go seth oh, really. Yes yeah. Seth thank you, thank you. [ cheers and applause seth i know i know many who would tell you, oh, hes clown enough. [ laughter ] but until you put on that red nose, that sensible vulnerability but also possibility, who knows seth you actually filmed an episode with my colleague amber ruffin, and you actually spent time with her at her home, i believe. We did. Seth how did you find your time with amber, i can certainly speak to mine, but how did you enjoy her, chelsea hilarious, warm, she made us feel like we could be funny. You know, we think were funny, but then, she made us think like she would maybe find us funny. And she laughed a lot, so hopefully, she did and we succeeded. I just, you know, seth, i found her not only so warm, and generous, and supportive, and encouraging, i also found her really wise. Like she just had a real wisdom about how she thought about comedy, how she thought about her show and who was part of her show we got to be part of her writers room she wrote a really hilarious skit for my mother in a pants suit faceoff and i just thought like, oh, this is wise. Shes wise and funny seth this is going to make her impossible to be around. Everything you just said [ light laughter ] oh, sorry seth the amount shes going to stand up in meetings now and be like, if you remember, im wise. [ laughter ] i have a million more questions for you guys were going to take a quick break. Well be right back with more from hillary and Chelsea Clinton. [ cheers and applause so thihis is the, uh, plac is that. Crown mololding . Did d you do thahat . Hold o on, are youou on the e raisin braran crunch . . [ambmbient noisese] [ cheers and applause seth welcome back to late night. Were here with hillary and Chelsea Clinton. I dont want to miss the opportunity to ask you about some things in the news. With the Dobbs Decision hhm seth i think in the days after, it seemed like maybe this is the risk you put yourself at when you take a snapshot of a very small period of time. It seemed like people were saying that democrats were caught very flatfooted, like they werent expecting it. But in the months since, it does seem like republicans are scrambling especially ones that have won primaries who are now trying to back off their decision. We have a lot of republicans saying it should be decided by the states we have Lindsey Graham then coming forward and saying there should be a federal ban. Do you feel like this is, you know, an opportunity, obviously one that came at a great cost of this decision right, right. Seth but, you know, as the midterms approach, how do you feel this is going to, i dont know, move voters one way or the other . Well, i can only say based on what weve seen so far, it seems to have encouraged a huge number of women and young people to register to vote the numbers from across the country are [ cheers and applause higher than ive seen in a very long time we also have three elections special election in new york the kansas election on the issue of choice and abortion and then the Congressional Election alaska. And in each case, the prochoice position won and i think thats a pretty good snapshot, because obviously, it went literally across the country. So, look, i think that the republicans have been scrambling only because they cant quite believe the blowback i mean, its one thing to say for years, were going to do this were going to do that, and people not take you seriously. Because who would have ever thought that womens rights would be rolled back and thats we did. Yeah. [ laughter ] well, you and i did. But thats because we take these people at their word, because we know that they are part of a Relentless Movement to literally turn the clock back on not just women, but gay rights to enhance all kinds of, you know, power for corporations and others, and limit individual freedom so, if people take seriously what the court did, what is happening in states, and what Lindsey Graham just did, which was to really spill the beans, were going to put in a national 15week abortion ban. Yeah, a ban no matter what you might do in your state, then they should turn out and vote, and vote for people who, you know, want to really protect the right of people to make their own decisions, whatever that decision might be. Thats what theyre [ cheers and applause and and i think, seth, that to be a woman right now is to be political because politicians have decided that they know better what we should do with our bodies than we do. And i think that women and, thankfully, the men who believe that women should have agency over our lives and ourselves dont want to go back to a time where its actually politicians and not women and their doctors making choices absolutely. Intimate choices. Seth i i also [ cheers and applause id be remiss if i didnt ask you about this i dont know if youve noticed in the news, but theres been an issue about handling classified materials. Oh, ive heard about that yeah seth and we weve had some fun here because we cant help but find a certain level of hypocrisy from certain people, including the fella who handled this classified material because back in the day oh, so long ago seth yeah, so long ago i dont know if youve ever heard this [ laughter ] he thought you should be arrested [ laughter ] yeah. And, you know, let me start by saying just for the history books, do you know how many classified documents i had zero zero [ cheers and applause and so, you know, you cant make this up. I mean, the lies they told, the you know, heated rhetoric, lock her up, all that nonsense. It was totally political, divorced from reality. Now we have a serious problem because if you just read, and i dont have any inside information, what is being found, Nuclear Information about an ally or an adversary. Incredibly top secret the kind of stuff, seth, that when i was secretary of state, when they talk about secret, top secret, and then special compartmentalized and all of that, sometimes usually it was a man. Usually a military officer, would come into my office and would have a handcuff that was attached to a suitcase in order to show me something that was so secret, he literally had to have it tied to his hand. And so, it was locked. And then he would open it. I would read it. I would sign that id read it. And he would take it back. Thats what some of those folders on the outside say was the kind of information in it. And so, i dont care what Political Party you are, but come on, cut the hypocrisy this is a threat to our National Security somebody would actually have in his country club storage room his desk, his bedroom, top secret information and you have to ask yourself why what was he going to do with it . Or what did he what had he already done who was he giving it to . You know or what had he already done with it . And so, let the investigation go forward and lets, you know, find the facts unlike those guys, im not saying, lock him up. Im saying lets just find the facts and follow the evidence wherever it goes seth well, i think if he [ cheers and applause i think if he realizes he did something wrong, hell probably turn himself in and say, lock me up. [ laughter ] right, you know seth if i know the man, hes, you know hed want to take responsibility seth he will take responsibility, if theres one thing we know about the man. Hey, chelsea, this is very exciting as someone with three kids of my own, you wrote a book inspired by by having three of yours i did, i did. So i wrote, welcome to the big kids club. And because when i was pregnant with our third jasper, charlotte and aidan had all these questions. Like, you know well, first they asked, is it going to be a boy or girl . And i said, i dont actually know the answer to that because were going to be surprised. But then they asked other questions like, when will the baby talk and walk . And will the baby poop, like, on day one . [ laughter ] and why dont babies have teeth . Because it would really hurt if youre breastfeeding [ laughter ] thats actually not the answer, totally. But so i decided to write a book because i thought, well, if were having these conversations, were probably not the only family having these conversations. And so, i wish i had had this book when i was pregnant with jasper, and im so thankful to tania for the extraordinarily beautiful illustrations. And just so proud and excited its out in the world. Yeah, yeah. Seth well, its very exciting [ cheers and applause thank you both for making the time its always a pleasure thank you, seth thank you. [ cheers and applause seth what a joy to have you here in person finally im so relieved to be back seth yes its been hell. Seth yeah, the time away the time away but i learned a lot. Seth oh good, i can tell youre different im different, ive changed seth and i liked you the first time, so this is a big its better now seth its better now trust me, its better now seth so this is very exciting, this is a standup special thats coming out tomorrow or today, is it today i think last night at midnight, technically, so its out, its out. Seth its out. Yeah. [ applause ] seth and how did we come up with the title cinnamon in the wind . I dont know. Seth okay. Well, you know cinnamon in the wind, the special is largely improvised, its really just captured one night. Bo burnham directed it, the brilliant bo burnham seth yes [ cheers and applause yes, absolutely, back to me, though, back to me and so, cinnamon in the wind is sort of ephemeral, right, it sort of harkens to that which is the nature of life and perhaps the show, you know seth thats really thats really now it makes a lot of sense. Yeah, yeah. That reads, yeah seth so i have this question because now youre doing this onewoman show, also directed by bo burnham, and it does seem as though its a departure from standup, and im assuming it must be a bit of a leap. It must be nice to have somebody like bo whos done the other with you as well how did you come to the i dont know, the conclusion to do something that was similar to standup and that its just you on stage but very different . Yes, well, the special, heres a little peek behind the curtain, the special was shot for fx three years ago seth okay. The seth you are aging so well yeah, yeah. I was watching and i was like, okay, yeah. Its terrifying. But we well i dont know what happened, i think the suits were a little scared about the material, they thought if people saw it, they wanted to keep the public from my comedy. Seth yeah. But i told them no, people have to see it, they were afraid theres be an uprising if people saw it [ laughter ] seth wow, so this is sort of a threeyear conversation that you finally won. Yeah, and luckily you know, typically comedians, you do a special, its put out immediately because comedians are responding to the times, right. But my act was mostly me crossing my eyes, so i think were okay that the three years have passed. Seth because that has not gone out of style. No, no, i still, i cant knock that but the new show really is a its theatrical, its a play, i guess you could say. Seth its a really, this is a very theatrical photo, im very impressed with that thats me, drama. Seth yeah. It is like all art, just a vain attempt to be taken seriously. And so, this is really im trying to be like, im an actress. You know, so thats im really White Knuckle gripping that but its a proper theater show, lights and excitement, and theres a little dancing in there, yeah. Seth your long time friend and collaborator, john early, who are big fans of on the show as well. You and john obviously communicate all the time, has he been supportive of your new off broadway show . Its been hard for john seth yeah, because youre off on your own. Seeing me shine [ light laughter ] seth yeah, thrive even you really find out who your friends are when you put on an off broadway show after your specials been shelved for three years, you really find out and hes been threatened no, its been great. Hes my best friend. He comes a lot he is so very funnily well send texts, like the day the show opened, he sent texts a text to bo and i that just said, do not google the show. [ laughter ] and so, hell call me and ill get a voice mail and hes like, woke up with a bad feeling. Tonights not going to work, i can feel it, dont go out there. [ laughter ] so thats very fun and seth you grew up in l. A. Did you always know that you wanted to be an actor . How do i put this yeah [ light laughter ] seth okay. Did everyone around you also know everyone was like, you have no, i just loved attention very young, striving for it at all times, still you might say, cant get enough of it and so, yeah, i mean, i wanted to be an actress, but then comedy, when you look like this, when you make faces like that constantly, you will be pushed into comedy. So but again, the play is sort of me again trying to demand an acting career. Seth well, there you go. Yeah. Seth you, i mean, you do have an acting career that started when you were very young on a little show called lizzie mcguire. Yes, yeah seth and do you remember getting the part how could i forget . Its the only part ive ever booked for an audition, essentially, truly yeah, i auditioned, i believe the audition i was supposed to have twos lines, and then it became one seth so you got a one line part in lizzie mcguire. We have the clip, do you mind if we show it i demand that you show it now. Seth okay. Lets take a look at kate in lizzie mcguire. Lizzie, very cool pants her seth okay, so [ cheers and applause now just we do want to make sure, because i think the eye might be drawn to the sort of principal performers who are walking towards us i think the eye is just uncannily drawn to me. Seth okay. You cant even see the whole seth just in case anybody missed it, we do want to spotlight you a little bit more. Lets watch it one more time lizzie, very cool pants. Her seth wow, really nicely done yeah. [ applause ] seth you were also in the new series a league of their own, which is fantastic [ applause ] thank you seth and you look a very believable athlete in the show were you a baseball player in your youth no. Seth okay. [ light laughter ] no. Seth but i mean you obviously i mean, somebody, there had to be some sort of coaching involved. Thank you, there was coaching involved seth okay. And thats all ill say no, i learned i knew nothing, but now, i think i sort of can i kind of like my swing, actually, i was told people wonder, they said, youve played before . And i said no, and they fell to their knees, they were shocked. [ laughter ] seth that must be a nice thing to get, especially from people who are obviously their profession is coaching yes, yes. Seth and they just looked at you i coached the coaches its crazy [ light laughter ] seth thats your new job is to coach the coaches yeah. Seth this is a very exciting time to have you, standup special, league of their own, and your off broadway show im so grateful that you made time for us tonight and joined us i dont want to leave are we done .
