Reporter at this hour the fire crews are still putting a whole lot of water on that tower. This is fire that started just before 6 00 this evening. It took crews a couple of hours to knock down the initial flames and then snuff out a lot of the hot spots popping up throughout that tower. The Police Department cordoned off a large area around it in part because initially there was concern it could collapse. Ladder trucks setup in the streets around the sixstory Affordable Housing apartment complex dousing it with water as hot spots flared in several parts of the tower. This is is the fire and response by Aerial Department that people could see for blocks. We could see the smoke from a couple of blocks away, heard all the fire trucks. We just decided to come check it out. Reporter first reports of the fire came in just before 5 40 this evening. On social media you can see the towers engulfed. And as fire crews engulfed it with water trucks and fire canons it still took them hours to douse it. Groundbreaking for this project was in july. It was just a few months into construction. It was supposed to be part of an ambitious homeless tower and Service Center called berkeley way. The good thing no one lives there, so thats the good news. Reporter theres no word on what started the fire. There are no injuries reported. Some of the surrounding apartment buildings and businesses had to be evacuated, but none were damaged. Now, we are told that the fire is out, but these crews are going to remain on scene for several hours just to make sure there are no hot spots. And you can see there are some of the crews that are already starting to wrap up and starting to head home. We are told that investigators have really been able to take an initial look at what happened. There is no determination just yet as to how this fire may have started. A federal judge tossed out the lawsuit to stop the certification of pennsylvanias Election Results with a scathing 37page opinion. The judge called the legal arguments strained, without merit and speculative. Todays ruling is the latest in a long string of rejections by judges to the president s mission of overturning the Election Results. In georgia the Trump Campaign has filed a petition for another election recount. The state completed a recount this week reaffirming that president elect joe biden won that state by more than 12,000 votes. But the president s legal team argues another recount is needed to ensure every legal vote is counted. They want a recount with signatures matching. Critics say signature matching was already part of the recount. Another one will simply affirm that biden won. Georgia would also have to foot the bill for another recount.
