Back to the breaking news out of russia. Russia says it is the first country to approve a covid19 vaccine. President Vladimir Putin said russia rushed a covid19 vaccine with state regulators there, putin adding that one of his daughters has taken the vaccine. Doctors could begin receiving the vaccine as early as later this month or early september, but there is concern within the Global Health community as scientists have not completed a phase 3 study. That final stage study usually involves tens of thousands of people intended to prove if an experimental vaccine is safe and if it really works. Right now there is a plan on hold right now for that failing economy as millions of americans wait to find out what happens with those unemployment checks. Today county leaders will vote on proposed fines raging from 25 to 500. Businesses could face penalties between 250 and 500. What youre looking at on your screen right now is a total number of cases in california. That number of cases continues to climb. Right now 554,000 confirmed cases since the start of the pandemic, more than 10,000 people have died. Cases among children, weve really been watching this closely, especially as kids are going back to school. Cases among children and teens in california also surging. According to the department of public health, as of last week, more than 50,000 cases of covid19 were confirmed young people, and again, Santa Clara County trying to s be discussed today. Sonoma, Contra Costa County already have fines starting at 100. City officials not enforcing the rules in santa rosa say fines could be 500. In San Francisco, some of the personal Training Centers have actually moved that training outside, as you see right here in some of this video. Now, the owners of mx3 in San Francisco, they say that revenue is down 80 . Thats a lot fior a lot of businesses. A lot of those businesses are considering permanently closing. The san jose Coalition Says 600 businesses with 700 employees are in trouble. Im not exaggerating when i say this entire business sector could collapse within one month. The Coalition Says Fitness Centers should be allowed to operate inside just as physical therapists are allowed to do. The east side unions High School District in san jose will start the year with distance learning, as most of the peers will as well. For the east bay well see a high of 86 in pleasanton. Oakland today 71, and for the coastal areas, we will get some sunshine today, but i think its going to be foggy for most of the day at half moon bay. Heading over to palo alto, we expect the High Temperature to reach 80 degrees, and San Francisco will reach into the upper 60s. Today in the Mission District and our north bay High Temperatures in the mid70s in stant santa rosa. Compare it to the heat well still feel in ukiah today as it heads up to 95 degrees. Some of us enjoying a nice, clear sky but well also have a meteor shower peaking tonight into early tomorrow morning, and this is the time we could see, in those predawn hours, several of those meteors streaking across the sky. The two men then launched a website called feeding local heroes. Someone can order food from 24 different restaurants and then pick the hospital they want to send that food to. The two men say they are not making any money off that website. They are encouraging other restaurants and Health Care Facilities to join in as well.
