Accused offend misland lg claims of sexual abuse by workers. Attorney suing kaiser says many alleged victims are Spanish Speaking women of color. Investigative reporter hears from kaiser and the key victim in the case. The woman was sexually assaulted at this kaiser in union city. She says kaiser knew her attacker was a predator. And allowed him to keep working. Jane doe is a Sexual Assault victim. So we are not revealing her real name. She cant drive by kaiser medical offices in union city without remembering her doctor appointment there in 2017. And kaiser exemployee. Absolutely everything about the moment of the assault. As a medical aid for a decade. He was only authorized to provide basic patient care. Like prescriptions and managing paper work. A jane doe was shocked when she was asloan loan with him in an exam room and the questions got personal. He asked me about my ring. And welcomed the door. When i went to grab my purse he came from behind and held my hand and made me touch his private part. He was convicted of sexual battery. New Court Filings and reviewed show accusations that he had a long list of victims. Nurse themed porn on his work computer and stayed on the job. According to documents filed in the lawsuit, there were at least six other alleged victims while he worked there. In 2013 a patient said he physically examined her when he wasnt trained or authorized to. Cupping her breast and touching other parts of her body. She said she reported the abuse to her provider. In 2015, another kiz patient says he told her he wanted to stay in the room and watch her undress. She said she reported him. Kaiser concluded his behavior was inappropriate but he continued to work with female patients. In 2016, one month before jane doe attack. He was accused of sexual bat ray. Unclear if it involved a patient. The misdemeanor was dismissed as part of the plea deal in jane does case. Why was he still working at kaiser and with patients for so long . Police body cam video obtained shows what his supervisor may or may not have known at the time. An officer speaks with her shortly after the attack. The way that kaiser and kaiser related entities are organized it seems like theres a real silo. Attorney represents jane doe in the ongoing civil case against kaiser. When theres no coordination and theres no one tracking silo to silo department to department. Things fall through cracks. I want them to listen to the patients and other complaints. During the weeks of the investigation, kaiser declined our request for on camera interview. Instead they sent a long statement saying in part, we fail to live up to the commitment. When it happened we acted quickly to terminate the employee and cooperated with law enforcement. We didnt do that this time. We should have recognized behavior earlier and acted sooner. Liberty says the practices continue to put patient at risk. Jane doe says shes speaking out for other potential victims and for her children. They had always seen me as a strong women.
