Its certainly true we need to get back to work. Its a shame we dont have the kind of testing that would inform us how to get back to work in the safest way possible. I think at this point were not going to get the kind of testing we need, so were in the midst of doing a grand national experiment. Im sure well find there were parts of this country that went back to work and shouldnt have gone back to work. Unfortunately, well learn it the hard way. You helped develop the rotovirus vaccination. The Task Force Working faster than they have ever worked towards a vaccine, they hope by january, by some reports. In your opinion, how extraordinarily quick would that be . Its unprecedentedly quick. Typically vaccine programs take 20 years from research to a commercial product. This is being done in 12, 18 months. By definition there are steps that will be skipped or coalesced. The big one is, before a vaccine is licensed by the fda, you this wont be a licensed product. I think it will be fda approved. You have a placebo control trial, i think that wont happen. Well test it in a few thousand people before its rolled out to the public, which has some level of uncertainty. I think in the midst of this virus which is killing 1,000 to 2,000 people every day, i think were willing to accept some level of uncertainty to try to stop this surge. So, is it possible then, doctor, in our understandable rush to a vaccine, we may make a vaccine thats less effective against coronavirus . I think we can make a vaccine thats effective. I think we probably wont know exactly how effective until it rolls out and we look at a larger number of people. I think we can be confident before it rolls out that it doesnt cause a common side effect. It may not be out there that we find out it causes a very uncommon side effect. Again, its a level of uncertainty we have to live with given how much we need a vak sxeen need it now. Im sure well be talking to you much more as we race towards that vaccine. A former biden staffer says she filed a complaint with a Senate Personnel office in 223. That complaint regarding Sexual Harassment she says she experienced while working by biden, not sexual assault. Biden denied the allegation in interviews on msnbc. Im saying unequivocally it never happened, period. I dont know what kind of complaint she made. You could say on the university of delaware papers, he might have begun his baseline with saying they did their own search or they got a thirdparty to do a search, at least on tara reades name. There are some baselines you could say they didnt meet that they could have. At the same time, he did throw out a marker and he said, you know, im calling on the secretary of the senate, if this complaint exists, theyll have it and lets find the complaint. I think at the end of the day, willie, this piece of paper is going to matter on whether this story sort of continues to keep moving or it sort of sits in the access hollywood ether. It becomes an eye of the beholder, part of your understanding of him and the campaign in general, sort of what happened with President Trump. But if there is a piece of paper that is found, whatever is said on it, that it exists, i think, would amp this up another level for the former Vice President. This, of course, chuck comes in the middle of a president ial campaign where President Trump is seeing his poll numbers slip in some battleground states. There was a lot of reporting that last week he had a call with his Campaign Team where he erupted when he saw their internal polling showing him not doing well. In one of the great stains on the history of our country, president Franklin Roosevelt issued an order in february of 1942 that eventually placed more than 100,000 americans of japanese descent into internment tadashi was one of them. Born in los ans, tadashi grew up the son of a minister and school teacher. He was living in a small farm town outside fresno when on his 12th birthday he and his family were ordered to the relocation camp in arizona, where they spent two long years. After being released, the family moved to new jersey to start a new life. Tadashi later joined the United States army to fight for the very country that had imprisoned his family. He served in the korean war from 1951 to 1953. After the war, tadashi, tad to his friends, earned a College Degree in chemical engineering. He moved to new york city to live with and met mabel, the woman who would become his wife. In 1976 he was named principal of Public School 41 in manhattan, where he was the longtime beloved leader of his teachers and students. He later was named a school superintendent. In 1981, tadashi gave testimony about his familys experience during world war ii to the Congressional Commission on wartime relocation and internment of civilians. This march, mabel, a former teacher herself, contracted coronavirus and was hospitalized. Tadashi caught the virus, too. After nearly 60 years of marriage, they died five days apart.
