San franciscos ocean beach was on the same story. But with i have not seen the swarms of people at our beaches that showed up at Southern California beaches frustrating the governor this weekend. If you missed it, this is what it looked like, people out and about. Not just for exercise, gathered if groups, sun bathing. Some of them a lot closer than the 6 feet. They are in violation of that shelterathome order. In a memo, the governor gives the police chief up and down california that all beaches and state parks will be shut down. Much to the frustration to some folks we talked to. The suv is flat. If the suv is still flat, why are you making the conditions more constrained than less constrained. Reporter at this point, though, the curve is flatter. But statistically it is not flat as the number of people dying of covid19 and being infected by covid19 is still on the rise in california and here in the bay area. So if it seems like we are getting mixed messages of what is allowed from beaches and Outdoor Activity to what kind of outdoor work can resume, the general rule of thumb is this, whichever order is more strict is the order that is enforceable. So if the state order is more strict than san mateo counties, you have to do what the state says, if the rules are more strict, the local ordinance is the law of the land. The company says it did immediately reach out to his family once they learned the news. Its not clear, how, when or where he contracted the coronavirus. Amazon says its been almost a month since he was last in the warehouse on april 1st and at the time did not show any symptoms of covid19. One employees this morning tells us up until today, amazon offered concerned employees the options to use their vacation or take unlimited unpaid time off. Gilead scientists says its new dr promising results in clinical trials. The antiviral drug is given to the sickest patients by iv. The National Institutes of health preliminary data shows it reduced Recovery Time in the hospital by four days. This morning on the today show, dr. Fauci talked about the drugs promise. Thats important. Its the first step in what we project will be better and better drugs coming along, either alone of this type and drugs addressing other targets of the virus. So its good news. But they also got the update from the Drought Monitor so i wanted to show you this for a second. We are looking at the bright red farther to the north, which shows an extreme draught for far Northern California and we know its been pretty dry here recently. Were going to see this continue as we transition over to may. It looks like we will see our Drought Conditions worsening as we go into a more dry time of the year. As we look at a closer view of the bay area, if you go south of the bay area, there are no Drought Conditions, because the storm track has been there from the Central Coast to Southern California. We missed out on a lot of that rain. Right now we have a severe draught from the peninsula to the east bay on for the to the north, san jose under moderate drry conditions for the santa cruz mountains. As we look at the sierra, we have been watching those years for the potential of providing our summertime water and looking at the Upper Mountain of squaw valley. It looks pretty good actually today is the last day theyll go out there and do those manual snow surveys and, of course, because of the social distancing and the pandemic, theyre going to do this all virtually on Facebook Live so we are looking at with our automatic sensors, around the area of lake tahoe, theyre showing 47 of the normal amount of snow pack. It will continue to melt, because its been dry and also very warm. So well be watching for those updates coming out today as we look at our high temperatures, were going to see a wide range in temperatures from the coast to the inland areas. Are we looking at upper 50s in halfmoon bay. You look over towards east bay. It will be in the upper 70s. That thats a big improvement over the low 90s we were hitting on monday and tuesday. We will continue to stay dry also a little cooler due to some storm systems that have been moving over the pacific northwest. We are going to see that rain, basically miss us as we go into the next seven days. There is no rain in the forecast. But at least we will get a litt shift in the wind, that brings in more of an ocean breezend some cooler air. We are looking at upper 70s here. And a nice weekend.
