And in a bad sign for the climate, they were done in 30 seconds [ laughter ] today was National Pancake day first reported by a desperate fox news [ laughter ] oh, yeah, no, id love to talk about impeachment, but [ laughter and applause finally, authorities at a jail in ohio recently busted an inmate catching a cell phone that was dropped from a drone being flown over the facility. Bobby flay is here, you guys [ cheers and applause we have a great show for you before we get to all that, today we got to see the damning whistleblower complaint that sppeachment inquiry over President Trumps ukraine scandal. For more on this, its time for a closer look. [ cheers and applause seth yesterday we saw the memo from trumps phone call with the president of ukraine, and it was already incredibly damning. The memo revealed a quid quo pro in which trump dangled hundreds of millions of dollars in military aid and, in return, pressured the leader of ukraine to investigate a political rival, joe biden by literally telling the president of ukraine to, quote, do us a favor. And as a general rule, you never want to do trump a favor because it will always go unpaid in f i a liking to you, make you part of his entourage and destroy your dignity and reputation. Just look at Rudy Giuliani [ light laughter ] the guy used to be americas mayor and now hes constantly on tv looking like he just fell ass first onto a railroad spike. [ laughter ] and then we got to see the full declassified whistleblower complaint that details a series of illegal actions designed to get ukraine to interfere in the 2020 election, and then to orchestrate a coverup of those actions. And youll never guess who was in the middle of it all. From the whistleblower who says, in the course of my official duties, i have received information from multiple u. S. Government officials that the president of the United States is using the power of his office to solicit interference from a foreign country in the 2020 u. S. Election. This interference includes,ia foreign lawyer, mr. Rudolph giuliani, is the central figure in this effort. This person says they heard from multiple u. S. Officials that they were deeply concerned by what they viewed as mr. Giulianis circumvention of National Security Decision Making processes to engage with ukrainian officials and relay messages back and forth between ukraine and the president. Seth amazing, they concocted an illegal scheme to extort the Ukrainian Government to help them win the 2020 election, and they chose as their gobetween, Rudy Giuliani. [ laughter ] thats like if you planned a bank heist and made mr. Magoo your getaway driver. [ laughter ] magoo, wheres the car . Car . i thought we were using skis [ laughter and applause [ light laughter ] and then in the hearing this morning, the acting director of national intelligence, joseph maguire, was grilled about his handling of the whistleblower complaint, and specifically giulianis role in the scandal. And maguire said even he, an intelligence official at the highest levels of government, had no idea what rudy was doing. Were you aware of his role or understanding what his role was, doing what you do . Congressman quigley, my only knowledge of what mr. Giuliani does, i have to be honest with you, i get from tv and from the news media [ audience ohs ] seth congressman, all i know about mr. Giuliani is what i see on tv, and so all i can say is i hope he gets his narcolepsy cured soon [ light laughter ] why does he always look like hes being woken up in the middle of a question [ laughter and applause of course, this would all this would all seem like a shocking abuse of power and obviously impeachable behavior to any normal person, and yet during the hearing today republicans on the committee chose instead to defend the president. Like congressman devin nunes, who concocted an insane lie about how democrat trump. Today, they accused the president of pressuring ukrainians to take actions that would help himself or hurt his political opponents. And yet, there are numerous examples of democrats doing the exact same thing democrats on this very committee negotiated with people who they thought were ukrainians in order to obtain nude pictures of trump. Seth i assure you, no one wants nude pictures of donald trump [ laughter and applause in fact, nude pictures of donald trump are the one thing that should be literally covered up also, if nude pictures of trump existed, the first person to show them to us would be donald trump [ laughter ] maybe thats why rudy always looks like that, trump just showed him the nude pics rudy, check these out i just got these developed oh, look, by the way, i broke my thumb. [ laughter ] [ audience ohs ] thats not my thumb, rudy you think youre looking at my thumb. But thats not my thumb. I tricked you, rudy. [ light laughter ] but its not just Rudy Giulianis involvement thats detailed in the whistleblower complaint there are also explosive details in the report about the lengths to which the white house went to cover up their scheme. Now, remember, they keep saying theres nothing wrong in the phone call and everything trump did was appropriate. And yet today, we found out that the trump team actually went out of their way to take the notes of the call and hide them by moving them from the place theyre normally kept to a high Security Location where very few people would see them. Here is where the alleged coverup comes in. Quote, in the days following the call, i learned from multiple u. S. Officials that senior white house officials had intervened to lock down all records of the phone call, especially the official word for word transcript of the call that was produced, as is customary, by the white house situation room. The whistleblower reports that the white house officials told me that they were directed by the white house lawyers to remove the electronic transcript from the Computer System in which such transcripts are typically stored. The transcript was loaded into a separate Electronic System, when white house officials described the act as an abuse of this Electronic System because the call did not contain anything remotely sensitive from a National Security perspective seth so they took the notes out of the normal system used for calls like this and tried to lock them down by putting them into a classified system to hide them, which makes it incredibly obvious that this was a coverup its like if your husband had a folder on his desktop that said, work stuff, not porn. [ laughter ] i mean, honestly, were so lucky these guys are terrible at coverups. It was so obvious, people caught onto it immediately. The president had a phone call and then his staff was like, put it in a separate system, and a bunch of people were like, why . And trumps staff was like, uh, no reason. Then Rudy Giuliani went on tv, woke up from his nap and screamed, we did a coverup [ laughter ] and apparently, this wasnt even the first time theyve tried to cover up Something Like this the whistleblower wrote in their complaint that according to white house officials i spoke with, this was not the first time under this administration that a president ial transcript was placed into this codewordlevel system solely for the purpose of protecting politically sensitive, rather than National Security sensitive, information. So they have a secret system where they keep politically sensitive information. Is that also where they keep trumps eyeglass prescription . 10,000 known or suspested gang members controlled by large derners advising lawmarkers. Seth yes, yes. [ light laughter ] lawmarkers, as in when they write up articles of impeachment, they can do it using lawmarkers [ laughter ] now trump is lashing out so erratically that its actually hard to understand what hes saying for example, after the hearing, which was held by Intelligence Committee chairman adam schiff, trump said this. Its a disgrace to our country. Its another witch hunt. Here we go again its adam schiff and his crew making up stories and sitting there like pious whatever you want to call them. Seth whatever we want to call we dont want to call them anything. Why does he put it on us to come up with his insults . Its like president ial match game sitting there like pious blanks. Is it lawmakers . Im sorry, the answer was lawmarkers [ laughter ] and this morning [ applause ] this morning, trump said something even more menacing about the whistleblower in a private meeting with diplomats trump reportedly called the whistleblower a spy and suggested they should be punished for treason this morning, while at a private event in new york, the l. A. Times is reporting that the president called the whistleblower almost a spy, along with anybody who might have helped that person. The president went on to say, you know what we used to do in the old days when we were smart, right . The spies and treason, we used to handle it a little differently than we do now. Were definitely seeing a dick [ laughter ] tator, tator dictator trump wasnt the only one losing his mind this morning. After the release of the whistleblower report, a reporter for the atlantic tweeted that Rudy Giuliani called her today and that giuliani was nearly shouting in my phone call with him it is impossible that the whistleblower is a hero and im not and i will be the hero these morons when this is over, i will be the hero, he told me. I had this conversation while in an uber, and when i hung up, the driver was like, uh, everything okay . [ laughter ] i mean, not only is rudy meddling in elections, now hes meddling in peoples uber ratings. [ laughter ] hey, im sorry, if youre gonna talk to giuliani, i got to give you one star. So now democrats have even more explosive new evidence for the impeachment inquiry. And now were moving full steam ahead with that inquiry. Trump, of course, is losing his mind yesterday, for example, he attacked House Speaker nancy pelosi and even bizarrely claimed she was no longer the speaker of the house did you ask House Speaker nancy pelosi to find a way out of impeachment yesterday not at all. No look, shes lost her way shes been taken over by the radical left she may be radical left, herself, but she really has lost her way. All shes thinking about is this shes been taken over by the radical left the whole Democrat Party you take a look at whats happening in the media today the whole party is taken over by the left and nancy pelosi, as far as im concerned, unfortunately, shes no longer the speaker of the house seth well, unfortunately for you, she very much is the speaker of the house [ laughter ] [ cheers and applause she is i mean [ applause ] hes such a bratty teen. Im surprised he didnt add, im going to my room, and im never coming out, as far as im concerned, youre no longer my mom. [ laughter ] in fact, trump is lashing out so wildly that yesterday he tried to take the rest of the white house down with him when out of nowhere he dragged Vice President mike pence into his mess now, mike pence is an expert at managing to stay out of the fray remember that Oval Office Meeting with pelosi and schumer where pence basically tried to teleport himself away yesterday, when trump was asked about his conversations with the president of ukraine, in which trump asked him to meddle in the 2020 election in exchange for hundreds of millions of dollars in military aid, trump, out of nowhere, dragged pence into his mess i think you should ask for v. P. Pences conversation because he had a couple of conversations also i can save you a lot of time they were all perfect. Nothing was mentioned of any congratulations. But the word is that theyre going to ask for the first phone conversation you can have it any time you need it. And also mike pences conversations which were, i think, one or two of them. They were perfect. Seth damn, hes taking mike pence down with him its like when the cop separates two suspects in a murder case, and one guys like, ill never talk and the other guy is like, you should talk to mike pence, it was all his idea. [ laughter ] and its not just mike pence who is now implicated in this whole mess there is also attorney general william barr yesterday we learned that referred to the department of justice as a possible crime and that barrs team shut it down. Barr was also mentioned multiple times in the notes from the phone call and then in the report released today, the whistleblower said explicitly that attorney general barr appears to be involved as well, which means barr may have been lying during this exchange with senator Kamala Harris back in may has the president or anyone at the white house ever asked or suggested that you open an investigation of anyone . Yes or no, please, sir um, the president or anybody else seems youd remember Something Like that and be able to tell us yeah, but im trying to grapple with the word suggest. I mean, there have been discussions of matters out there that they have not asked me to open an investigation, but perhaps they suggested . I dont know. I wouldnt say suggest. Hinted . I dont know. Inferred . [ laughter ] you dont know okay seth i mean, look at her face shes questioning him the way you ask your son, do you smoke weed . When youve already found the weed [ laughter ] but for real, you know someones lying when thats how they respond. Its like if your boss at kinkos comes to you and says, hey, brad, did you get drunk, sit on the copier, photocopy your ass and put it up in the break room . [ light laughter ] and your answer is, uh, hold on, uh [ laughter ] yeah, im just trying to grapple with the word photocopy. [ laughter ] yeah it was you then. You put it up in the break room. [ laughter and applause then there is the state departments role in all of this for example, in an interview on fox news this week, giuliani actually admitted that the state department was also involved in this scandal by asking him to take a phone call with an official in ukraine to manufacture a baseless smear against biden. You didnt get involved in this on your own did our state Department Ask you to go on a mission for them . They did. Seth oh, my god, rudy, why do you keep going on tv and confessing this stuff . [ laughter ] heres my theory, when rudy and trump and their cohorts are huddled in the white house, or on air force one, they all make perfect sense to each other. Right . They dont even realize the plans theyre making are crimes. Its like when you and your friends take mushrooms in the back bedroom and youre throwing theories around. You feel like geniuses then you leave the bedroom, but you forgot your moms having her book club. And suddenly the moment they all look at you, you realize, oh no, were really [ bleep ] high. [ laughter and applause seriously, that fast, he gives it up that fast. Can you imagine rudys episode of law order [ law order chime did our state Department Ask you to go on a mission for them . They did. [ cheers and applause seth then, rudy admitted again during an interview on fox news, where he literally held up his phone to show his calls from the state department that came after a Washington Post report in which white house insiders tried to blame rudy for everything. According to those insiders, the person who appears to have been more directly involved in nearly every stage of the entanglement with ukraine is guiliani rudy, you did all of this, one u. S. Official said this [ bleep ] show that were in, its him injecting himself into the process oh, man, i love it theyre all trying to blame each other now. This is like the end of reservoir dogs where everybodys pointing a gun at someone else youve got mr. Orange. Hes blaming mr. White and everybodys mad at mr. Red [ laughter ] what we saw today in this whistleblower complaint is impeachable behavior on its own, let alone all the other ways in which trump has abused his power over the last two years. And now that things are getting really bad, theyre trying to pin it on each other, with the white house blaming rudy, rudy blaming the state department and trump blaming pence. In fact, if both trump and pence get removed from office, the next person in the line of succession would be nancy pelosi in which case, it would actually be true that shes no longer the speaker of the house seth this has been a closer look. I think it was basically, like, 92 to 14, and now youre repeating it pretty soon after does that mean youre digging it its good to be back oh, its great to be back i was supposed to do one 97 but i had somessues i wont get in, and [ laughter ] yeah, i was down in costa it [ lahter ]tt anyway seth theres was pbably like, weather. It was your flight and weather probably Something Like that that kind of thing. Seth yeah. [ laughter ] and so, that was 97. So, i would have had the five seth yeah. Seth so the first time you were there at willies place, did you know right away, oh, this is where i want to be . You know what it was . Yes. That is what it was. [ laughter ] seth i cant believe it has been ten years since the first zombieland. It feels very recent to me, cause the film seems you know, its a lot of people that obviously stuck around like jesse, and emma stone, and Abigail Breslin and yourself did it feel weird that it was ten years later . Or did it feel like you guys were just getting the gang back together to tell you the truth, seth, felt like no time had passed at all. Yeah seth is that tough, in general, how you feel about things thats generally yeah. [ laughter ] its just like the weirdest continuum. [ laughter ] fred gets me on this [ laughter ] yeah seth yeah. I was in high school and, you know, i used to do a little imitation for the guys on the football bus and so some of the guys were in the library, theyre like, trying to get me to do do your elvis. Cant do it in here, man. Theres a lot of people in here. [ light laughter ] just do it. You can do it quiet. No, i cant do it quiet i dont know how [ laughter ] well, anyway, i dont know if it was there, you know, somehow they prevailed on me or just my inner performer came out [ laughter ] and i started singing it, you know, kind of quiet at first well bless my soul seth yeah, thats very good. Seth reall i said, you know whaughter ] ill try out for the play. Seth and thats she always scouted in the library. Thats the first time it paid off. [ laughter ] you i read a story that you told recently in an interview that blew my mind. That you went to dinner with Jesse Ventura who was a wrestler and then the governor of minnesota. And that was the that used to be the craziest thing, is that a pro wrestler was then the gornor of a state. [ laughter ] right seth back in quainter times. Yeah. [ lighlaughter ] seth but y were friends with him yes . Yeah. Seth and then in 2004, you went out to dinnerith dona trump 2002. Set 2002. Yeah. Seth onald trump and melania. Oh, right, because donald trump wanted him, jesse, to be his running mate for the democratic yeah. Seth primary in 2004. Thats true seth what was that dinner like um [ clears throat oh [ laughter ] it it was little bit tedious. Ill be honest seth yh. Seth and do you ever i mean, are you ever surprised when you see dialogue and think, oh, this cant possibly be something im allowed to say . Not surprised because i think it sort of becomes a bit of a competition. Seth yeah. Each other for the most horrible and then im like, can i play . And then i want to throw in my own horrible crap too. So, sometimes ive only been told to shut up once by jesse armstrong. Seth yep lets hope for the best seth were being optimisti exactly seth yes so these are acally two dishes from my book. So one of them is Pimento Cheese, which is a southern specialty. Seth yep great. So we have white and yellow cheddar. You want to grate some seth yeah, just grate it sure on the big side right, exactly seth okay. Now, im going too this with you seth okay. Great. So you want to grate grate the cheese seth uhhuh. Then were going to add a little bit of mayonnaise, some cayenne pepper, and then some salt and pepper. Seth okay. Two kinds of cheeses here . Exactly just white and yellow. Seth yeah great. Just looks kind of seth why not lets have fun and this is what it looks like, and heres a recipe that you can definitely do. You take some of these crackers out of the box, and then you just brush them with a little bit of butter. [ laughter ] a little bit of butter seth yep some fresh herbs. And then you just use these as some of the snacks for the Pimento Cheese seth great so this is just and so this is just cheese and pimentos, right . Thats it. Yeah, cheese, pimentos, little bit of mayonnaise seth oh mayo, right. Its very low in fat. Youre going to love it. Okay [ laughter ] lets make a classic guacamole cause everybody always wants to know how to make guacamole seth right right, okay so we got some avocados.
