Today the last of the passengers are expected to disembark, and right now some of the passengers already onshore are being quarantined at a hotel on the peninsula. Talk a little bit about the safety of people who even live close to that hotel. Reporter up to 100 people from the grand princess cruise ship are being quarantined in the fairfield inn off the 101, an industrial area, and its not in the sense of a neighborhood, per se. I dont know if you can see behind me, but the property is fenced off with temporary fencing and theres a chp unit guarding the site. And San Mateo County says the federal authorities assured them the people being quarantined here pose no threat to those living in san carlos. Those being quarantined here are american citizens that have mild or no symptoms of covid19, but they will be tested and monitors during their stay at the hotel. The cruise ship arrived on monday, including 21 passengers that tested positive for covid19, and more than 600 passengers have been taken to the air force bases, and once those areas became full the state chose this location, because the hotel was empty at the time. They are urging residents to show compassion for people stuck in quarantine. If this was happening to me or a member of my family, i would hope the community we travelled to would be equally as caring. They are not going to be walking around. If they could walk around, they would send them home. Some residents in san carlos said, we have no indication they would be able to leave the building, and this is, after all, a quarantine. As for those that tested positive on the ship, they are still on the ship and will remain in quarantine unless they are sick and require medical attention. Thank you. Scientists in the usa say the virus can linger in the air several hours, and their findings dont prove people have been infected by breathing contaminated air or touching contaminated surfaces, but they are trying to show the hygiene importance. And uc davis is going to test between 60 and 80 patients daily, and the hospital recently successfully treated three patients. Some california lawmakers are worried the Coronavirus Impact could affect the states revenue. The state estimates it will have more than 20 billion in reserves in 2020, but lawmakers say if the stock market continues to fall they might have to change revenue estimates so the state would have less money to spend. And leaders are not waiting around for the government to assist businesses hurt by the coronavirus. Immediate relief fund will provide 10,000 for businesses if they are losing money, and it includes breaks on licensing fees and taxes. It will not be raining the whole weekend, but unsettled weather off and on. Up to 55 degrees for the inland area for the weekend. Maybe go to squaw valley, as long as you get there on friday and then saturday it will be a tough go trying to get anywhere around the sierra. If you are there to watch the snow fall, you might want to wait until early next week before coming back to the bay area. Checking out muir woods, friday will be the best day to go for a hike. A lot of sunshine, and temperatures in the mid50s, and showers on and off on sunday. Colder temperatures with Half Moon Bay reaching 57 degrees, and low 50s for the rest of the weekend as the rain moves in. As we look at this map we can still see a lot of dry air between us and the line of clouds that we have been watching out over the pacific. This is the next storm system and as it comes in it will bring cooler temperatures along with clouds and rain. As we go hourbyhour, we are going to see sunshine today as well as tomorrow, and then we take it into saturday morning and thats when we already start to see spotty showers developing and becoming more widespread as we go throughout the late morning into the afternoon. The darker the color, the heavier the rain. As we go into late in the evening on saturday, some of the north bay will have rain moving through. It will continue through the day throughout sunday. This computer model showing we could see over an inch and a half of rain in a few spots, and mostly over an inch of rain for much of the bay area. While we get rain the sierra gets snow, up to 60 inches of snow for king dale and some of the upper elevations, several feet. There will also be more snow in the forecast for next week.
