A charter bus driving southbound on i15 just near fallbrook in north san diego county. The bus goes over the side of an embankment and landed on its roof. Being that it was raining at the time, is that a factor . It is something that all drivers have to be accountable for when it is raining. So were going to be looking into that. The bus driver suffered minor injuries. There were not seat belts on that bus, but they are not required by law. Happening tonight, caltrans is closing a major interchange in the east bay. Oprah winfrey soaking in the bay area. Take a look at some video she shared on instagram. She wt on what she calls a hea healing hike with the Group Outdoor afro. It inspires africanamerican connections and focuses on selfcare. Their trip today with oprah was all about that. The bay area for her 2020 vision tour. She was here for that. It took place this morning at chase center in San Francisco. They had a great day for a walk. When you plan that in february, you usually would expect more rain. You might need the umbrella. Right now cooler temperatures and some clouds. Just no rain in the forecast. That is kind of the big story obviously moving forward as the dry pattern continues. And with the dry pattern, maybe an early start to allergy season. You might have noticed that. Pollen count very high for tree pollen, pine and cedar currently the top contributors to the high sneeze factor were seeing around the bay area right now. A lot of pollen in the area but not so much in the way of rainfall. Were approaching minus five inches of rain for the north bay so far this month. Two to four inches of rain missing around the rest of the bay area. Before we get that rain to come back, its not too bad outside right now. A few low clouds around san jose. Looks a bit more like summer. As you look at San Francisco, the low clouding streaming inland. With the stronger sea breeze, big drop in temperatures compared to the same time yesterday. A good 10 to 15 degrees cooler for most spots as the winds have returned onshore. San francisco, the morning tomorrow begins with patchy low clouds. That will push inland. Mostly 40s to start the today. Highs tomorrow may be just a little bit warmer but if you really want those 70s to come back, probably going to have to wait till monday through thursday. So some patchy low clouds to start the morning. Mid60s around san jose. Upper 50s to low 60s from San Francisco to oakland. Upper 60s tomorrow around santa rosa. So we are here in the bay area. We got the low clouds, but not too far away from the bay area, look at rain. Southern california. We got High Pressure up towards the west. An upper level low is tracking through southern. So, yeah, beneficial rain. Just too far away to reach us here. And off to the west we have High Pressure, which continues to be a bit of a problem. Obviously its not allowing any storms in. Notice as we head towards tomorrow morning, no rain in the forecast. Thats patchy low clouds, mist, and maybe some fog for the morning. Then sunshine as we head through the afternoon. Now, speaking of that ridge of High Pressure, its going to strengthen and build back over california as we head through the middle part of the week. That means mid to maybe upper 70s possible for the middle part of the week. And notice the rain chances staying off to the north till maybe saturday and sunday. But with the ridge to the west and these systems dropping up and over that ridge, it doesnt look promising for really significant signs of rainfall. Unfortunately when you have High Pressure like that to the west and these areas of low pressure that drop inland, we may see more wind next weekend. Were hopeful the sierra might get a little snow out of that pattern. But most of the rain staying off to the north as High Pressure kind of keeps that storm door shut around the bay area. So this is significant. If we go all the way through march 3rd without any measurable rainfall, youre looking at the first february in San Francisco going back to 1864 that we havent seen any measurable rainfall. That is how the extended forecast looks for now. Stay tuned as we head through the end of the week. Notice even San Francisco temperatures starting to climb closer to 70 degrees as we head through midweek. And valleys looking more like maybe april or may if those temperatures mid 70s in reach. Even with the extra day. We got a leap year. Thats not going to help. Doesnt look like its going to do a difference. Hopefully with the new month, well see a new weather pattern.
