This morning, visitors at vail, colorado, and ski resorts are on alert after a new jersey man was asphyxiated while trying to load a chair lift. The mountain ski patrol performed emergency cpr on the mountain before transporting him to an area hospital where he died. Officials tell us thaty are conducting as the chair lift was conducted and now operating normally. It is awful. I dont know how it happened, but it is tragedy. This is not the first time that the passenger became suspended on a chair lift at the resort. In 2009, a man was left suspended upside down on the same lift for seven minutes before being rescued. Last year an 8yearold boy found hanging from a ski lift in grous, vancouver, and some teens created a makeshift crash pad to rescue the boy. And this weekend, near vail, an avalanche killed two men snowmobiling in the back country and rescue crews and bodies of buried under snow and ice. And hiked into where they were and searching with the beacons, and probing, and going everywhere. The officials are still investigating but say that the avalanche may have been triggered by the groups snowmobiles. And going into the evening, it is going to cool off quickly and he g into the low 40y early tomorrow morning and i am seeing the clouds here as we looked at the disturbance just off of the coast, and we have mostly had High Pressure blocking any clouds and keeping the clouds arert a that is working in the atmosphere, it has to encounter some dry air and so by to a lot of the time, the storm systems that do approach dry up before they come in and it has been dry recently and as we are looking into the weekend, it is a low pressure to the north and the storm system is bringing the slight chance of rain from San Francisco to the north bay, but it doesnt look like enough rain to help us out here. We are going to see a change of the pattern here by the middle of next week, and we can see the approaching storm system may have more of the moisture with us to bring us some rain and then by the end of the month, we could finally measure some rain, and we know that last month in san jose, we only measured 3 4 of an inch of rain, and normal is two inches of that, and then for that, this is what we normally measure, but so far we have not gotten a drop yet, and as we head into march and april, the expected rain is going to drop off. So we will hopefully get a normal amount of rain by march and nice if we got more, and as we are looking for the dry forecast, you will see the temperatures in the inland areas and the 70s today, and the mid60s for the rest of the week, and going into the weekend and talking about the clouds going into the weekend, and then you will see a slight chance of rain in San Francisco, and northward and other than that dry and warm is going into the next few days as we see more sun and springlike weather, laura and marcus.
