Right over here what i heard a short time ago, i heard the hiss of helium going into the balloons there, so its a pretty good sign, at least im hopeful, that these balloons will fly along the parade route there are Police Officers with gauges like this to check the wind, but at the bottom line the decision im told, if youll excuse the pun, is still up in the air the iconic balloons that help bring the magic to the national macys thanksgiving day parade all taking shape wednesdays inflation event drawing a massive crowd, eager to catch their favorite characters up close. All of those fueling these flames behind me that are still very much burning. The concern this morning, a thick plume of black smoke forcing evacuations for miles, turning this community into a ghost town after two violent explosions at a Chemical Plant in less than 24 hours, its definitely not going to be a traditional thanksgiving for 60,000 people in this Texas Community outside houston, now ordered to evacuate their homes ahead of the holiday security cameras capturing the white flash of the initial blast early wednesday. Raging flames now tearing through this facility owned by the tpc group, a company that produces chemicals used to make rubbers, fuels and plastics. Firefighters have been working around the clock to extinguish the chemicaldriven flames but wednesday afternoon a second large explosion launched debris into the air the disaster catching people in the surrounding areas by surprise across town, buildings, schools and homes rocked by the explosion. Residents rattled, unsure of what could happen next. About a couple of minutes ago we heard two small explosions and then a very large one so it might not be as under control as it looks. Jude Childrens Research Hospital in 1962 he was from a poor immigrant family they didnt have any health care so the children in his neighborhood died of preventible things like influenza and appendicitis only because their family couldnt afford a doctor and that became one of the founding promises of st. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, that no family would ever pay for anything. Reporter fulfilling that mission took grit and a great deal of money. What do you remember about how he was able to do that my father used to call himself a proud beggar he went to the celebrities that he knew, great ones like Frank Sinatra and Elvis Presley and bob hope and george burns and dinah shore and Ella Fitzgerald and said help me raise money to build a hospital. Well, i still cry to think of it it so moved me that all these little children were celebrating one childs turn for the better. And just at that moment this mom came over with a little girl who must have been 4 or 5 years old. And the mother said to her, do you know who this ladys daddy is and the little girl said yes st. Jude i mean that was it. Reporter and the thomas siblings, marlo, terry and tony, understood from that moment that this was their legacy to carry on starting with the thanks and giving campaign. Thats exactly whats happening. One, youre eating a lot of food the more pressure you have in your stomach, the more likely to get heartburn and youre eating things to trigger your heartburn. Spicy foods, if you can avoid or at least minimize those. Dark meat because its fatty can cause an issue if youre a white meat person, youre probably not going to have as many problems. Mashed potatoes have cream and butter in them so roasted potatoes are better. I swear im not dr. Lets talk about the bird for a second lets take last year out of the way where its never been good and say this years a new year lets start with a little pepper, a little salt. Okay. Obviously, right, a little olive oil. We do a fresco by scotto by using orange segments. We like orange segments for two reasons. One, it opens up the bird so that the dark meat cooks, which is a very important situation. Because this needs to be 160, this needs to be 175 so the idea is to try to get this at 160 and at the same time getting this cooked. Okay. Two ideas one, orange segments two, frozen butter that youll put underneath the breasts to try to keep that cooler so that this is cooking and try to get this coming at the same time. So its done. Now we have to carve the bird. This can be very intimidating. Its not actually were going to look at this bird the way it comes to you. Youre going to talk to it and ask it how its day was. It looks like it had a pretty bad day. No, no, its all good. I can never get the legs off. Its very simple. Just pull them back and theres a little joint right here that takes it right off its very simple what you want to do here, though, you want to slice the turkey this way first and then slice it this way so you have a clean slice.
