The big question this morning is these giant balloons, the character balloons, will they fly . If the parade started right now the answer would be yes. The concern has been over the winds, sustained winds of 23 miles an hour, gusts up to 34 would keep them on the ground. We havent felt those winds at this point. Should be quite a parade today. Well continue to see the pockets of on and off again showers from 3 30, 4 00. Its not going to be heavy widespread like we saw the last two days. We should see that tapering off. As far as your daytime highs well be very cold, very comfortable, though. At least it will feel more like fall fall. A preview of winter. Well take a break from the rain but looking ahead into sunday, another round of rain, wind and sierra snow ahead. This is all going to make its way in saturday evening into sunday. Rain becoming extremely widespread into monday morning. The difference between this storm and the last, this one is setting up to be more of an Atmospheric River event. Right now its looking like its pushing off more to the central coast. However, it will mean more accumulation in terms of the rainfall compared to what we saw the past two days from 36 inches and more sierra snow. For those of how are traveling to the sierra expect that snow to continue for the next two days through friday. Were going to continue to see the snow. Saturday when the new storm rolls in, thats going to mean another day of dangerous travel. Sunday will be the worst for the sierras. If you plan to make it down, you may have to wait until not monday but tuesday. The reason for that is, well, the roads will still be extremely slick and we could still be seeing gusting winds from 30, 40 plus Miles Per Hour even at some of the lower elevation areas.
