Keep in mind, these rules have only been official since 2015, supporters of todays move say the internet was fine before then, itll be fine now. Internet Service Providers like at t and comcast which owns this tv station pushed for todays change, but say they will keep following Net Neutrality rules anyway. Someone saying we should get highway speed limits and that promising not to speed. Net neutralitys the concept that all data should be treated equally. No app should be able to pay more to make their data reach your house faster or better than anyone else. One of the more interesting analogies that ive heard is pizza. When you call your favorite pizza joint, you expect the call to go through. Dominos cant pay verizon to reroute the call to them and you dont have to pay extra if you want to call your neighborhood pizza parlor instead. They are all treated equally by the phone company. It means little companies that are just Getting Started have as much access to Internet Users as Big Companies like netflix or google. One of the two main dorms here at the hall here at San Francisco state now interestingly enough, when we spoke to a number of students leaving the hall, they werent aware of this student, but those that we did speak to who were aware of course expressed concerns, specifically since this building is fairly secure. Now, i want to tell you the information were getting from San Francisco State University, theyre saying that the 18yearold suspect was arrested inside a Mary Ward Hall on tuesday afternoon after University Police responded to calls of what they called a loud disturbance on the sixth floor. And when they forced entry into the room, they say the suspect was choking and physically attacking this 19yearold victim. Now in order to get into that dorm hall, i mentioned, it is fairly secure. You not only need a key card to swipe in, but you also have to show your room keys to the front desk. Now heres what students are saying this morning, just two days removed from that incident. Actually forgot to go to my class for like 30 minutes after that because i was talking to people. And yeah, any time you see Something Like that, it reminds you that life is fragile and it makes it scary to realize that that can happen to someone on our campus. I was kind of freaked out because someone that doesnt go here in our building, anything could happen to any of us on any floor. Its scary, but it was intense situation. When you walk in, you have to show your keys to show that you live here. And im wondering, did they just hold up a pair of keys and the person didnt look at them or how did they get in . Reporter now the students i spoke to say they didnt know the victim fernlly, but from what theyre hearing, he was just a person who minds his own business. Its not clear if this was a targeted incident. The victim was taken to the hospital with lacerations to his upper body, but the University Says he is recovering. A wanted felon is behind bars again after a 15hour standoff, it is san jose neighborhood. This was the scene as officers took that man into custody just before 4 00 this morning, that vehicle you see moving is the merge unit as they back their swat bear cat into the home and then use tear gas. Officers also fired non lethal shots. And then you saw the dog going in, the canine officer brought him to the ground. Before all of that, officers had to rescue a man inside that home who could not get out on his own. The suspect managed to get him off for 15 hours, jumping fences trying to get away, but he was eventually cornered. Did eventually try to come out through the different parts of the house and elected to come out the front of the house where he was taken into custody. But not without a fight . He definitely resists arrest. All of this started yesterday when a Patrol Officer spotted that man who had a felony warrant for burglary and also possible connections to other crimes. A 15hour standoff some neighbors were forced out of their homes and into the cold, dark night. Jose ooinz Garcia Zarate was back in court since being found in possession in the gun of the killing of kate steinle. This is not a sentencing hearing, but were expected to get a date set for that today. Zarate was not gltd of murder nor manslaughter charges. Steinle was killed on pier 14 back in 2015. And San Francisco expect a high of 63 degrees, so, if youre going out there in the middle of the afternoon and the east bay, going for a drive, its going to be the kind of weather you want to leave the windows down. Let that fresh air in, it feels very nice. And then later on this evening, our temperatures down into the lower 50s, shortly after sunset. So weve had a lot of dry conditions and its going to turn windy this weekend. And then as we take it out to next wednesday, finally starts to see a little bit of some rain and some cascade and sierra snow. That will be dropping in just in time for the holiday. And we will also have some more rain chances in the forecast. So its going to stay dry this weekend. If youre going to napa valley, its going to be very comfortable, we have beautiful weather in napa valley last weekend. This weekend, more of the same. Yosemite, its going to be cool they are weekend and also windy and our temperatures only reaching into the low 40s and as we get a look at palo alto right now, our temperature trend keeps it in the upper 060s throughout of the rest of the day and the woodside camera showing it is going to be all clear and as we view that seven day forecast in San Francisco, some low 60s throughout at least the middle of next week. The brothers and sisters were all split up into different foster homes after their biological parents could no longer care for them. And this will be their first christmas as a family. They were kind enough to let nbcs gary sanders spend a day with them. Reporter sophia and desean always knew they might adopt, one, maybe two, but seven . And all at once. It was all or none. Reporter all or none because even though they were in three separate foster homes, all seven are brothers and sisters. If you had not adopted, what would have happened with this family of seven . More than likely, they would have got split up. There was no question asked. If they allow us to adopt these children, we will do it. We will do whatever it takes to make sure that we can care for them. I like to say i felt like it was a calling, honestly. When i saw that picture, it was automatic. Reporter as it turns out, this childless couple in florida could not have been more prepared. Their deep love coupled with their military background made the ramp up from no children to seven remarkably smooth, but you may still wonder how do they do it all . Including the finances. We dont spend a lot for ourselves as much as we used to. Reporter as soon as the kids get home from school, they are right at it. You have homework . Reporter homework, then fun time, sports, dinner they know the drill. They know the schedule. And they like the structure. And they like the discipline. And they help each other out. They help us out. Reporter a family rhythm unknown until adoption. I never actually had a mom and a dad understand me. But it feels great. Its like they both like half of something, like Peanut Butter and jelly. Reporter siblings separated for so long, memories had started to fade. I almost forgot your brothers and sisters. Reporter but this christmas a wish granted. Out of something that could happen, its like a dream come true. Reporter a dream that began when this lovely lady met this fella. Couldnt find a surrogate mom, cant be released into the wild. The pup is being taken care of now permanently by the oregon zoo in portland as if he didnt need another reason to go to portland.
