Receiving $2,000 grants were UBU Skills, Haven Terroir Services, Vicki Westgate, JF Masonry, Maddy Rose Design, Chewmarks, Muto Productions and Shop Centre.
Grants of $3,000 were handed out to Farm Sum Convenience, YGK Takeaway, Commanda Collective, Packraft Adventure Canada and DH Logic.
Only one company, Bread by Elise, received $4,000.
“Even after a difficult year of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, entrepreneurs and small business owners in Kingston have shown up,” Norman Musengimana, business development manager, small business and entrepreneurship, stated in KEDCO’s release.
“With both new startups and expansions, this intake of the Starter Company Plus was a diverse and unique group. I am very proud to see we have received over 80 applications for the program and honoured to have had the chance to watch their businesses take shape. They will, without a doubt, add to our community as a whole.”
