This morning, the number of lives lost in whats now the nations deadliest fire is likely to rise. Officials have confirmed at least 93 people were killed in the maui fires with only a small portion of the structures in lahaina searched by cadaver dogs so far. Were going as fast as we can, but just so you know, 3, thats whats been searched with the dogs, 3 l. A county sending a dozen of their cadaver dogs to search through whats left of the hundreds of buildings burnt to the ground. Hundreds of people are still missing. Search and rescue teams are going door to door looking for survivors. Search and rescue continues. Theyre spray painting xs on each building thats cleared. Sources tell abc news District Attorney fani willis will present her case to the grand jury this week. He lost this state and he continues to say he didnt lose it. Willis probe sparked in part by that phone call from trump to georgias secretary of state brad raffensperger. After the 2020 president ial election with the former president appeared to pressure raffensperger to find the votes needed to win the georgia grand jury is heard testimony from more than 75 witnesses, including raffensperger and trumps former chief of staff, mark meadows, who was also on that call. And now several more witnesses have publicly confirmed they were called in to testify, including journalist george tidy, who stumbled upon a meeting of alternate trump electors at the State Capitol and says that he was kicked out. Trump, the leading republican candidate for 2024, has vehemently denied any wrongdoing. We dont take plea deals because i did nothing wrong. Its called election interference. The plane coming by ryan jacob boesky saw the crash and says the air show crowd was quickly told what went wrong. Yeah, so the announcers came over the air and they were basically explaining what had happened that the pilots were ejecting out and that there was a crash, a statement from the Wayne County Airport authority overseeing the air show says the pilot and back seater success safely ejected from the aircraft before the crash. While it did not appear they sustained any significant injuries, First Responders transported the pair to a nearby hospital as a precaution. Incredibly they both survived. Im glad that, you know, nobody was injured on the actual field or anywhere else. Airport Authorities Say the pilots declared an emergency just before they ejected from the plane.
