Some are expected to reach the threshold within the next week or so. The high case numbers that weve seen have not even begun to impact hospitals yet. It orders the closures of playgrounds, hair salons, movie theaters and others. Retail can stay open at 20 capacity. Restaurants at take away and delivery only. The message is to stay home as much as you can. We encourage you to take your dog for a walk. We want to you exercise and go on a run. The governor expects local authorities to follow the restrictions. For those that dont, he says he can withhold economic aid. 25 available icu capacity across the bay area region. As you can see, it varies by county. Most are hovering around 30 . In sonoma county, only three beds are currently available. And weve reached out to marin county. We havent heard back. Reporter the governor says they will open 11 emergency field hospitals for overflow covid19 patients. Three are located in the bay area. One is in richmond at the crane way pavilion. The second the at the county event center. And the third is in San Franciscos presidio. In the east bay, the looming stayathome order could affect already struggling businesses. They share their fears about being forced to close. Im getting calls. People are calling saying, hey, youre going to close. Reporter shes a hairstylist. You heard her there. Word is out and spreading quickly that we may soon see a stayathome order if icu hospitalizations rise. A restriction that would close hair salons, barber shops, nail salons and outdoor and Indoor Dining. My biggest fear is that we close down and it is to go only. Thats scary. Reporter Governor Newsom says they project icu numbers to continue rising and believe the restrictions would then come in less than two weeks in the bay area. Some are flat out mad. It just seems really stupid. In the old days, you get to thrown into a room with chicken pox and you would get over it. I guess you go get this again. Reporter the governor says the state the is and will continue to work at helping businesses. They also provided the 100 million main street tax credit. Reporter good news for businesses like this albany nail salon where the owner tells us that like so many others, she is two months behind on her rent. Alameda county writes about it saying if the situation worsens, they may enact restrictions before the state actually does. And in San Francisco the owner of a grill says he received a phone call staying city will ban all inperson dining as soon as saturday. It recently put up decorations in its dining room. Tier three, lab workers, dental offices and pharmacies. Dr. Patel says the plan must be based on safety, equity and transparency. Thats really important terms Building Trust and making sure people not only trust the system of distribution but they go and get the vaccine when it is their opportunity to. When the amount of covid rises in our community youll get more people landing in the icu. And youll get more outbreaks.
