We are anticipating 327,000 doses of the vaccine, pfizer, to come in the next few weeks. Reporter Governor Newsom says he even knows roughly when the vaccines arrive but didnt want to reveal the date until he had the exact day. Were going to be seeing hundreds of thousands of people in california and millions of people in the United States get vaccinated in december. Its actually breathtaking. Reporter so here is what we can expect in the next few days. The vaccines exact date of arrival and the plan outlining who will get the shot first. The vaccines implementation will happen at the speed of trust, and that is part of the reason why we have built a set of committees. We have to start with Health Care Workers and probably people in nursing homes. And then ultimately, we will get to people over 65, people with preexisting conditions. Reporter the Pfizer Vaccine will require a second dose which will be available within three weeks of the distribution of the first dose. Moderna is also on track to produce 20 million doses for the entire country, also by the end of the summer. Like pfizer, it has applied for federal emergency authorization of their vaccine. In a conversation with facebook, dr. Fauci said if all things go well, we could be living in a very different world by spring. By the time we get to april, the normal healthy young man or woman 30 years old whos got no underlying conditions can walk in to a cvs or to a walgreens and get vaccinated. Reporter with coronavirus cases surging around the state and hospitals filling up, Governor Newsom is warning parts of the state could face another stayathome order. It will require, and we are assessing this in realtime over the next day or two to make determinations of deep purple moves. Reporter for the second day in a row, california set a record for hospitalizations with nearly 7800. More than 1800 are in the icu. 75 of the states icu beds are now occupied. And at this pace, they could be overflowing by the middle of december. The bay area is in a little better shape with its icu beds expected to reach capacity in early january. Not lost on the governor are the Small Businesses being hit so hard by the restrictions during the pandemic. He announced a relief program, as well as grants to keep them going until the bigger package can be put together by the legislature. These are grants up to 25,000. Were going to expand interestfree for businesses that have 5 million in sales. Happening now, its the first night of San Franciscos curfew. It took effect at 10 00 p. M. And lasts until 5 00 a. M. Its in place until at least december 21st because of the city moving into the purple tier. Today abc7 asked the Health Department if its considering taking action like Santa Clara County did over the weekend. It instituted tough restrictions and a mandatory quarantine for certain travelers. That is under consideration. And were looking at what santa clara did, what l. A. Has done, and looking at where this virus is headed. Days to weeks would be where were considering a type of mandatory quarantine. Only essential workers are allowed to be out during the curfew. San mateo county is under curfew tonight as well after it too moved into the purple tier over the weekend. The county has seen an 85 increase in coronavirus cases over the past month. Much like San Francisco, its curfew will remain in effect until at least december 21st. As cases continue to rise, Santa Clara County issued new restrictions on travel today. The director strongly discourages leisure and nonessential trips. It requires anyone who has traveled more than 150 miles from the area to quarantine for 14 days. There are some exemptions for essential workers. People not staying in the county overnight, and a patient getting medical treatment at a south bay hospital. Enforcement teams in Santa Clara County wrapped up a black friday crackdown on businesses violating safety regulations. The county today said teams visited a total of 427 businesses and issued fines for more than 115,000. Top three violations were failure to submit or post a revised social distancing protocol, and failure to post a required sign about capacity. Two schools in pleasanton are pausing their inperson sports and music camps after students may have been exposed to covid19 at a party during the thanksgiving break. Students from foothill, ambassador valley, and Village High School attended the gathering. At least three have tested positive for the virus. The School District says they are unable to trace all the students who attended. This is this is admittedly unfortunate. And its not fair, but were hoping that this is a reminder to our community that we need to take this seriously and we need to do this together. Only two out of the three schools had inperson programs. The district is working with the county Health Department to do contact tracing. This tracker shows the number of covid cases in the bay area since the beginning of march. The yellow bar you see is the rolling daily average. You can see the cases spike during the summer months, then taper off. Then comes the second surge at the beginning of november that has resulted in the highest daily case counts during the pandemic. Developing news, another San Francisco city leader faces charges tonight in an expanded corruption case. This time the fbi says harlan kelly, the general manager of the San Francisco Public Utilities commission accepted bribes. As jr stone tells us, there were several individuals involved. Jr . Well, am marks harlan kelly is the tenth person to be charged in this case. The fbi says the bribery allegation here involved a trip to china with hotel stays, meals, and gifts. Harlan kelly is one of the most powerful people in San Francisco. He controls billions of dollars in public money. Reporter San Francisco supervisor matt haney is talking about San Francisco Public Utilities commission gm harlan kelly, who the fbi is charged with wire fraud in an alleged long running bribery scheme. It all seems to follow the same pattern. Years of gift giving and doing favors for city officials and then knocking on the door and saying hey, can you help me out with this contract . Can you give me some inside information . Reporter kelly is one of ten people who face corruption charges. Kellys Attorney Says his client denies all wrongdoing. I will tell you right now there is no jury in federal court in the Northern District of california that is going to convict harlan kelly of anything because he is innocent. Reporter the fbi says the allegations involve a family trip to china with hotels, meals, and gifts paid for by a Construction Company executive. Harlan, who according to officials had a salary of over 350,000 a year is married to the current San Francisco city administrator naomi kelly. Supervisor heaney says he is working with others to strengthen laws and oversight committees, saying this is an embarrassment to the city. And the pacific storm track, which is guiding some weather disturbances into the Pacific Northwest is flowing well to our north. So we will not have any rainfall here for a while. Overnight lows will be generally int the upper 30s and our inland valleys, and low 40s just about everywhere else. Tomorrow another sunny and relatively mild day with high temperatures int the upper 50s near the coast. Low 60s near the bay and mid to upper 60s inland. Now as we look at our forecast animation for the week ahead, you can see all these little systems developing up in the Pacific Northwest, producing rainfall, there even some snow in the higher elevations. Clouds will approach the bay area. But it does not appear that any rainfall is going to make it into the bay area as we move ahead to friday and then to saturday. Just dry conditions, and mainly sunny days except for the invasion of a few clouds here and there. The rain stays to our north. Here is the accuweather sevenday forecast. Its going to continue to be quite mild for this time of year. First weekend of december is going to see high temperatures inland in the mid to upper 60s, near 70 in places like santa rosa and cloverdale. Around the bay shoreline, mid, maybe even mid to upper 60s by the end of the week and upper 50s to about 60 on the coast. So pleasant weather. Its mild weather. But its certainly not the typical weather we would expect for the first week in december. And there is no rain in sight, dan and ama . All right.
