Speaking of this very early, early hour, the president of the United States is actually tweeting right now, actually tweeting attacks about this election, saying i easily win the presidency of the United States with legal votes cast. The president also bringing up control of the senate, mona. Accusing democrats of working to gain control of the u. S. Senate through their actions. The makeup of the u. S. Senate is still unfolding right now. The democrats have 45 members, the republicans with 48. The final outcome will largely depend on the two undecided races in georgia. Election officials now say the race will go to a runoff in january. It joins georgias other run off race between republican senator Kelly Loefler and democrat rafael warnock. Abc news predicts that when the house of representatives convenes in january, at least 106 women will make up the membership, setting a new record. Of those, at least 46 are women of color, topping the record of 44 set after the historic 2018 elections. In other news, the now former president of kosovo is in a fight for his freedom. Hashim thachi resigned thursday and immediately turned himself into a prison where hell be tried for war crimes. He was a rebel commander during his countrys fight for independence from serbia in the late 90s. Getting back to one of the Senate Runoffs in georgia, democrat Raphael Warknock is trying for some comic relief. He posted his own attack ad against himself. Take a listen. Lets take a look at how the electoral map is shaping up right now. Former Vice President joe biden is still 17 votes shy of winning the white house. Hes still slightly ahead in arizona and nevada and closing the gap in pennsylvania and georgia. President trumps address from the White House Briefing room claiming voter fraud is being met with swift condemnation. Including from some of his own allies. Earlier our political powerhouse roundtable weighed in. This stuff is going on that the president is talking about, all of us want it ferreted out. Because it would undercut everything that we believe in in our system. As a prosecutor thats like asking me to indict someone without showing me any evidence. If youre going to say those things from behind the podium at the white house, its his right to do it. Its his right to pursue legal action, but show us the evidence. We heard nothing today about any evidence. I want to know what backs up what he said so that i can analyze it. Let me tell you, if hes right, ill be outraged. Im sure you would be, too. If hes wrong . If hes wrong, then the American People are going to be able to make the judgment about this election that the results have been fair. And this kind of thing, all it does is inflame without informing. We cannot permit inflammation without information. Rahm emanuel, this is not the rhetoric of a winner. I think actually you have a contrast, you have a split screen. Vice President Joe Biden talked like a leader. Donald trump talked like a loser. And the American People saw it for themselves. Republicans had a great night in the house and senate. They want to carry that momentum into a legislative session. The longer this drags on, theres going to be a legal fight even if joe biden overtakes the president in these states and quickly is declared the winner by the news networks. Clearly, theres going to be a legal fight that goes on for months. Republicans are not going to want to have anything to do with this. If there is evidence of fraud, they will back the president. But he and his team are going to have to produce that evidence. Theres conversation about whos going to tell the president that hes going to have to back down, including is there somebody who can even do that, which in and of itself i think is troubling. Its a precarious time for the country. There are concerns that the campaign has. In all of these legal challenges, which were now entering the league phase of this even though the counting is still ongoing, theres the legal fight and theres the pr fight. Sometimes when youre doing it youre winning the pr fight and losing the legal fight or vice versa. Right now the president is losing both. Folks started to mail in ballots and the rules and the law started to shift. I havent had the chance to thank all the organizations and voters who endured and over came a lot of obstacles to vote in this election. Pandemic and a lot of people risked their lives waiting in line for hours. You can imagine what theyre thinking when the president goes on tv and says their votes dont count. These people overcame a lot of barriers. So i think, you know, donald trump created this problem for himself and now, unfortunately, its coming back to bite him. Our thanks you know what .
