They have two helicopters with expandable water buckets ready to go, they can drop water on any flames that pop up. At 3 00, boom, power went out an hour before it was supposed to and it was really it was really disappointing because we needed that time to get everything on ice. I dont know if they saw wind coming early and thats why they chose to shut down early, but it was just frustrating. Reporter at one point on sunday more than 24,000 customers in Sonoma County were without power and about 14 of them 1,400 of them lost power he recalledy due to high winds which is likely what caused an early outage is that restaurant. You can see it bouncing around there, we have those breezes out there, its about 57 degrees, fire danger is going to be highest this morning for all of us, it will taper a little bit as we head into the afternoon and overnight hours, but it will still be very high up in the mountains. Chilly nights on the way, is your furnace working . You might want to change those filters for sure after all that smoke we have had. And the weekend, we will see its trending pretty seasonal. Why is this air so dry . Look at the jet stream. Look at how far to the north its going, almost all the way up to the arctic circle, grabbing that bone dry air and shooting it right down into our neighborhoods. In fact, you can see on the water vapor imagery we are so close to that orange which is the driest of the dry air and consequently you can see all those red flag warnings whether theyre here, nevada, arizona or even utah. Very dangerous situation across the west just not us. We are not the only ones dealing with this. Todays temperatures near 70 along the coast, mid to upper 70s. Tonight the breezes will be up just enough that it will keep us in the 40s and 30s. 40s in the valleys, fremont, even palo alto could drop into the 40s like the south bay but i think the 30s are on our way tuesday night into wednesday, wednesday night into thursday. Because this air is so dry, were talking about temperatures that will warm nearly 40 degrees from morning into afternoon. We will drop down to closer to average temperatures friday and it looks really nice for halloween.
