Because it didnt seem like we needed a plan necessarily. But you did have a plan, remind us what the plan you had on, i believe it was march 2nd was. Thats right, it was a plan to deal with covid19. Interesting. And a plan to get our arms around this coming virus. And it was all about testing, testing, testing. And how we keep ourselves safe and how we are able to continue to function in the middle of this. And you know, thats what really gets me. Is that we could have had a plan. As a nation. And sure, there still would have been virus, there still would have been some folks who got sick is, but we would not have lost 210,000 of our family members and friends and neighbors. It would not have been this bad and here we are now, seven months in to this, and donald trump still doesnt have a plan to deal with the coronavirus. And it is left the economy in sh shambles and people dying by the hundreds every day. Theres a reason for plans. Plans are how you map out the tough things you need to do and then how you get them done and how we hold our elected leaders accountable. November 3rd, thats when we are going to hold donald trump accountable. [ cheers and applause ] i am guessing you dont on a scale of 110, what number would you give the president as far as how he has handled this pandemic . Minus 4,961. No, i mean, because thats the [ cheers and applause ] its, its not just that he has been in competent. He has actually made things worse. Look where we are today. He has gotten out and shown, hey, that you can be political and not wear a mask. Well the virus doesnt care about your politics the virus still infects people. He has under cut the credibility of our Public Health officials. He has directed us away from things that would have helped us keep each other safe. And so for that, he doesnt even make it to zero. Well, first he made hats political and now he yeah. Maybe gloves will be next, or shoes, who knows. Who knows. Underwear, who knows. What did you make of thehehee earriea hearings this morning for judge Amy Coney Barrett, should they have even had them . No, these hearings should not be taking place. Its an illegitimate process. This is the republicans trying to steal a Second Supreme Court seat. And they are doing this for a very specific reason. The week after the election the United States Supreme Court will be hearing a case that donald trump has been pushing forward and thats a case to overturn the Affordable Care act and take you away Health Care Coverage from somewhere between 20 million and 23 million americans. To put everybody with preexisting conditions at risk, to knock young people off their parents insurance policies. And to raise the cost of prescription drugs. He cant do it through congress, so he wants to do it through courts and he has already told us that, and Amy Coney Barrett, has already said that she doesnt believe that the Affordable Care act is constitutional. We are done. We know what this is about. And thats why right now, we need to stay focused on doing everything that we can to stop this, this confirmation from going through. Its going to cost people and go back to the last thing, he is doing it right in the middle of a pandemic. You cannotpick a worse time. Its not just him, you have, for instance, senator Linsey Graham, were you surprised and i know that nothing is surprising. But did it at all surprise you that he would be so brazen when he reversed his position on, as far as nominating a Supreme Court justice goes . Did you expect him to be so, just forthright with his dishonesty . No, i did not. You know, i the way i see this is we need to hold donald trump accountable on november 3rd. But we need to hold like Linsey Graham accountable to the American People and in his case, accountable to the people in south carolina. Linsey graham stood up last time around when there was a Supreme Court nominee and said, nope. He would not, if we were just before an election had, he would not go forward with a nomination. And now he just does the 180 degree turn. And thats not just dishonest. It breaks faith with the people who voted for you. People who want to keep their health insurance. But people who also want to feel like whether you agree with him or not, that a senators word, a president s word should mean something. And Linsey Graham has just tan that away. I know that most democrats have been reluctant to answer the question that people keep asking is, will you because apparently theres no limit on the number of Supreme Court justic justices we can have, will you add seats to the Supreme Court in order to tip the scales the other way . And i understand why people dont want to answer that question. But i sometimes wonder why the democrats follow the rules so closely . I mean, if i was joe biden, and i was elected, i would put 25 Supreme Court. I would put the, i would put the lakers in there. I would put the cast of seinfeld, i would put Merrick Garland and had his wife and ki and everyone on the Supreme Court. The way i see it, we have to stay focused on what is going on right now. The hearings going on and Linsey Graham and the election on november 3rd. Its about accountability, but i think you raise the right point. When you say what are democrats planning to do . Lets take back the white house. Lets get the senate. Lets get the expand our majority in the house. What do you do with that . And the way that i see this, if we are going to build an economy that works for everyone, then we have to be willing to get in there and be strong as democrats. And that means we cant give Mitch Mcconnell a veto over the things that need to be done. So, i will tell you where i want to go. I dont want the republicans to be able to abuse the rules to maintain their grip on power. So, i have said it before. I think we need every option on the table. Every option to restore the integrity of the court, every position to make sure that a working single parent has a voice that is heard as loudly as some millionaire corporate executive. And that they all get equal justice in the courts and on al and also that they are heard in congress. Im in the fight all the way. I want to make changes on the filibuster. Will you do me a favor, i know its childish and juvenile, when joe biden beats donald trump, will you tweet the word chokeahontis . Just rub it in a little bit. You know though, donald trump he tries to divide us. Yeah. He tries to stir up as much hate and as much ugliness as he possibly can. And you i just we cant be that america.
