Sky 7 was over the protest yesterday and dozens of people were sitting in the intersection outside of Oakland Police headquarters. Protesters then marched to city hall. Oakland libby schaaf called floyds killing violence. San jose and oakland released a joint statement on floyds death. It reads in part, quote, we cannot see any Law Enforcement or selfdefense rationale for what occurred. Whats depicted in that video is not who we are as Law Enforcement professionals. San francisco has unveiled it reopening timeline and now we have the dates for when restaurants, hair salons and churches can resume services. Starting on monday, june 1st, Child Care Centers can open back up and Botanical Gardens and outdoor historical sites and two weeks after that on june 15th is when most of the changes will start to happen. We will see indoor retail, outdoor dining, religious services, professional sporting events without spectators and nonemergency medical appointments like going to the dentist. Hayward police have released new video from an officerinvolved shooting. Police say it started on wednesday after somebody called 911 on a man who was parked on the wrong side of the road picking up car debris. He had a young girl in the car and told the caller to mind his business. The man then started chasing the caller on a motorcycle and at some point police say that he crashed the motorcycle and started banging on the doors looking for the caller. Body camera footage showed when officers found him, police say he went into the garage and came out armed with a knife and thats when the suspect was tased and shot. He admitted to getting the knife and he apologized and said basically it is his fault. The 60yearold suspect was taken to the hospital and since been released to the santa rita jail. Police havent publicly released his identity. Pg e is one step closer to emerging from bankruptcy brought on from liabilities in deadly wildfires. Yesterday state regulators approved the 58 billion reorganization plan. A judge still needs to sign off on it, though.
