The chase ended when the man crashed on northbound 680 near sheridan road. They took the suspect to the hospital to be checked for injuries. Breaking news this morning from minneapolis, protests over the death of george floyd turned violent overnight. People took to the streets demanding justice for floyd. Arsonists set fires to several businesses and outrage coming after they showed a Police Officers knee on floyds neck during an arrest minutes before he died. Kenneth moton has the latest. Protests in minneapolis turned violent for a second consecutive night. Protesters demanding justice for george floyd who died in Police Custody and cameras captured the final moments with officer his knee on his neck. Floyd is heard begging for air. After five minutes into the video, he stops moving and appears unconscious. His knee still planted firmly on his neck. Police were on the scene after a 911 call said someone was trying to use a forged check at a store. Theyre calling for the officer to be arrested is charged. What we witnessed on that video was hard. Hundreds of people marched in Downtown Los Angeles yesterday in a black lives matter protest that turned violent. At one point dozens of demonstrators surrounded a chp cruiser near downtown l. A. And as a chp officer tried to leave a crowd someone smashed the back window with a skate board. One protester was injured after falling from the chp car. The city of minneapolis the National Guard to combat riots as protesters clash with police for the second night in a row following the death of george floyd. I want to get to this video taken earlier this morning so you can see the destruction in the city. Stores have been looted and that o auto zone burned down. Last night demonstrators turned violent with looting and vand ligz a ligz and a shooting near the protest that left a man dead and fires erupted at several businesses and witnesses said they were startled by arsonists. The night before we started out with about 8,000 protesters at 38th and chicago. And they were great. They were chanting for things to remain peaceful. Tonight didnt have that same feel. And thats sad. Floyd died monday night Police Custody and witness video shows a Police Officer kneeling on his neck and that officer kept that knee there for several minutes after floyd stopped moving. Four officers were fired and the fbi has opened an investigation. The mayor is urging prosecutors to charge the officer that was seen in that video kneeling on George Floyds neck. We also saw yesterday dozens of protests across the country, including one in los angeles where 101 was shut down for a reggie . Yeah, that was dramatic. Jobina, thank you. New this morning, San Jose Police are looking for one man who they say shot five other men and then ran away. All the victims are expected to survive after being wounded on William Court near south 24th street just before 10 00 last night. Detectives working to find out why the gunman opened fire on the victims. Theyre also trying to identify who the shooter was. So far no arrests there. This morning were learning more about the governors plan to reopen gyms. Newsom said the state will release guidon alls on what needs to happen for them to open their doors within a week or so. Cars can still get up around 120, 130 degrees. Be careful there. Lets talk about what is going on with our warmest neighborhoods but notice the south bay upper 80s. Wouldnt be surprised that some neighborhoods hit the low to mid 90s around gilroy and for the most part you can stay in the upper 80s. Lets take a look at the sunshine in the north bay after the 9 00 hour and still low 90s there and refreshing and breezy 74 at 8 00. In the east bay valleys, well top out in the mid to even upper 90s and you will feel that sea breeze as you head into the evening hours. 80 at 8 00 but dont be surprised if were quickly in the 60s by 10 00.
