After her strong debate performance in january she was considered a front runner. A poll showed her leading the pack in california. It seemed like she was a break out star. In debates. And tangling with joe biden. Other candidates caught a stride around messaging and policy. She struggled to find what she was for. November in california he support dropped to 8 . People were looking the california primary. Ultimately she says the decision came down to money. Im not a billionaire. I cant fund my own campaign. It was quiet and empty. Until one volunteer a custodian came to clean up. I think that it was just a matter of large field. And maybe just not her time. Again, this comes as a major surprise for a lot of people. Even people close to her campaign. There was a Campaign Fundraiser scheduled for noon today in new york city. It was cancelled this morning. Governor newsom was going to go to iowa to campaign with her. That wont be happening either. Kamala harris supporters from Campaign Staffers to Committee Members to volunteers are caught by surprise. We spoke with the member of the her National Finance committee this afternoon. Shes in the news room with her reaction. I spoke to san mateo shes active in politics. She was a county volunteer lead organizer and thats her initiative to engage with the Indian American community. Despite the recent challenges with money and polling, even yesterday local leaders met to coordinate boots on the ground efforts in iowa and nevada. She just bought plane tickets to canvas . January. She was devastated during the Conference Call thanking them this morning. She was stoic. Very strong. As she always is. But she was very honest and i appreciated that. Even to the first primary in iowa. The question is and the interesting question is why. Initially she had money and momentum. There was excitement. And it fizzled quickly. We had a perception. Initial launch tt goes back to when she was elected senator. It was the night trump was elected. And she was the first out of the gate to declare resistance to trump. It boosted her up. Following that we had appearances at the hearings in washington. Supreme Court Justice kavanaugh and the sessions herings and barr hearings. She prove d herself to be the prosecutor. After being the prosecutor or resisting trump, people started saying what is it youre going to do as president. Whats your platform and policy. She stumbled on healthcare and others. What is it youre going to give. It became a lot of competition. A lot of candidates. Early on, yeah. Very good point. Early on her campaign was saying heres the deal shes got what it takes. Home court advantage. Shes africanamerican. That will help her. Shes a woman. Bernie is too old. People have gone through it. Shes the new exciting person. Initial excitement. But time wore on can you sustain that and she wasnt able to. The question came down to at out . Point was she going to drop iowa. Or wait until california. Todays incident took place at the high school 90 miles north of milwaukee. According to police the 16 yearold student stabbed a Student Resource officer inside his office. We didnt know what was going on exactly. The student in the officer a member of the Police Department are being treated for nonlife threatening injuries. The motive is unknown.
