A couple in india is celebrating parent hood for the first time. Their ages, this is whats really making the headlines, the new mom is 73 years old. Dad is 80. The proud parents farmers. Theyve always wanted kids. Doctors agreed to try ivf and it was a success on their first try. Twin girls were delivered by csection yesterday. Doctors say both mom and the babies are doing great. Wow. If everybodys health is good, congratulations. Well, a grandmother is enjoying life on the road with her grandson and theyre trying to visit all the National Parks before she turns 90. Apparently she is well on her way. My philosophy is, it doesnt hurt to try something once. I dont have many days left but i intend to live them up. Hey, grandma. Where are we . Were in the middle of the redwood forest. My name is brad ryan. This is my grandmother, joy ryan. Ive known him since i had to change his diaper. In 2009 i was having a conversation with my grandmother, joy. She made the statement that she really regretted she had not spent more time in the Great Outdoors and she had never seen the mountains. I knew i had to do something to change that. Weve seen a lot. Yes. We sure have. Grandma, tell everybody where we are. Were in the badlands. What do you think of it so far . Oh, its been great. Everything is beautiful. You cant believe all these beautiful mountains. Yeah. Seeing an 85yearold woman climb up a mountain is not an everyday occurrence people are used to seeing. I knew she was touching peoples hearts. Now im getting letters from all over the world, thousands of letters a day, actually, seeing this universal response to love and kindness and connection intergenerationally is the most impactful thing i think i will ever experience in my life. We hope this trip will inspire some older life lady to get up and take a walk around the block. Doesnt make any difference how old you are, try to do something. Dont give up. , i to g i a whir and i made it. And i felt real proud of myself when i got to the top. What i learned about my grandma joy is that she stands out from other people her age because of whats inside of her. The open road allowed us to share and experience and grow. Jims home is his office, surrounded by pictures of his High School Sweetheart and wife, with whom he raised fourak him . Life. Hes a happy man. Reporter when volunteerings arrive early tomorrow morning, they wont just be building a playground, theyll be working with a force of nature, one man making a difference, leaving a legacy to future generations.
