Before this, the BBMP Vasanthnagar Subdivision assistant executive engineer issued a notice to the KESA on September 19, directing it to submit all the documents, including the sanctioned plan, of the building within seven days. The foundation stone for the KESA building was laid by the chief minister of that time, B S Yediyurappa, on September 15, 2008. The then chief minister, Basavaraj Bommai, inaugurated the KESA building on September 15, 2021.
