Her. Britains Prime Minister theresa may delivers a positive report to parliament about the progress of brexit talks. We will take you to one town in the u. K. Were people say they just cant wait to leave the European Union. Its good to have you with us. The United Nations said it is a textbook example of ethnic cleansing. Hundreds of thousands of millions of Rohingya Muslims facing prosecution and violence in myanmar and fleeing to bangladesh. Every day brings more refugees across the border. Bangladesh says it needs urgent help. Almost a million refugees from emrs ron kind state are now in bangladesh. More than half arrived in the past three months alone. Most of the refugees we know our children. Mondays Donor Conference in geneva brought the total amount thats raised to help them to about 340 million, but that is still short of the 430 million that agencies say is needed. Our coverage begins with this report. Thousands of people still flee me on our everyday. 600,000 head to bangladesh in recent weeks. Almost all of them have experienced great shop suffering. He wonders the refugee camp and cox is bizarre. Clearly traumatized, the 11yearold tells us what happened. My father was murdered by soldiers. Thankfully, i wasnt there. Neighbors had hidden me, and then they brought me to bangladesh. He it she is now searching for her mother. She hopes she also made it to bangladesh. She doesnt even have a tent, she sleeps out in the open. More than half of the refugees here are children. The relief organizations and the government are able to support them fully. Everything is in short supply, tents, food, medicine. Theres one hospital in the camp, where a handful of doctors worked around the clock. Whenever they are on the run, the heat and the long track are very hard long going. Most people arrive here in very poor condition. The most serious cases are treated in the hospital and the prevention capital. Many refugees have been maimed amanda bynes, or carry the scars of little ones. Maimed by landmines or carry the scars of bullet wounds. We want to support for them just like trucks, most of all, we wanted the committee to stop these type of inhumane works. Myanmar and bangladesh have formed a group to discuss the repatriation of the refugees. Very few actually want to return. We are joined from our washington studio by skye wheeler, who is a monitor of human rights watch. Thank you for taking the time to be withere. Tell us how you witnessed the situation of the road ninja there road ninja there. I got back about one week ago from a trip to cox bazaar, where i interviewed about 50 women who had recently fled myanmar. It was absolutely heartbreaking. Absolutely horrific stories that they were telling us about why they fled, and also the really abysmal humanitarian conditions they found themselves in now that they are in bangladesh. What did the women i understand you spoke with a lot of women, what are the things that have gone through since becoming refugees . I was interviewing women who had survived Sexual Assault and rape when they were still in myanmar. There were many of them, it appears that rape has clearly been one of the tools that the army there used to conduct ethnic cleansing in these villages. When i interested interviewed them, many were still suffering terrible injuries because of their rates. Not only were these women gang raped, sometimes by as many as 710 different soldiers. Then, they were forced to walk for many days on very serious injuries. The result being that even though they are now in relative safety, often they are still suffering from infections, tears and other wounds in the general areas. It is a really sad situation for them. You say they are in relative safety at these refugee camps. The truth is, england , while it allows them to be in them, it doesnt allow them to become citizens. You have a situation where myanmar will not recognize them, bangladesh will not recognize them, these are stateless people. What needs to change before these refugees can become normal people like you and me . Not only are they stateless, there also some of the most persecuted people on the planet. The stories i heard were horrific, but of course there is a long background to all of these terrible stories that have taken place in the last months. Everyone and i interviewed is desperate to be able to have the option to stay in bangladesh. They want that security, they want to be able to sleep at night. They want their children to be relatively safe. The world needs to do everything they can to make sure they get that same event they deserve. Rohingya you have conflict you have confidence in the authorities providing areas for them to be safe . Were talking about a crisis that is in an acute days, if this goes on for more than a year, the situation on the ground can change. You have confidence that the authorities will remain the v9 guardians that they are . The v9 guardians that they are . Humanitarians including bangladesh are working across the clock to save lives and keep people safe, keep people fed, keep them in contact with health services. The Bangladeshi Government has been grappling with a humanitarian crisis of enormous scale. These people have arrived incredibly quickly. They have arrived in horrific condition after being treated with absolutely abysmally. They have been doing an incredible job. Over the next months and years, we and everyone else hopes that these people are allowed to stay in a way that is dignified and safe. For the first time in many of their lives, they can Access Health and Education Services that they were denied back home. Thats only an important point to bring out. Skye wheeler with humans rights watch, thank you for being on the show and sharing the stories that you encountered in bangladesh. Is a dangerous and brave, and in some ways a thankless profession. I came to support tatiana and express my position. Journalism is one of the most important professions or our modern society. Unfortunately, its still one of the most dangerous. Russias Journalists Union has called the attack a blow to freedom of speech. The countrys Investigative Committee has opened up a criminal case for attempted murder against the attacker. We are hearing some of the other stories that are making headlines around the world. Within touching distance of a deal. That is how britains Prime Minister theresa may described exit negotiations with the European Union today. She spoke before parliament, her tone was upbeat, despite the fact that last weeks round of negotiations ended without progress on a deal for britain to be the eu. We havent reached a final agreement, but it is going to happen. I have a degree of confidence that we will be able to get to the point of sufficient progress in december. After the speech, there is a new momentum. The florence speech was a step forward. There should be a positive response for the interest to work on the interim period. That was a british Prime Minister theresa may. Were joined by Scarlett Johansson pill, she is on the story for us. What do european leaders think . Do they share her impression that the important progress has been made . A number of eu leaders have echoed tentatively to her remarks that there has been some progress made. Theresa may even name checked a few. They included german chancellor angela merkel. The fact remains that if there really was so much progress, eu leaders would have allowed talks to the next stage on trade and on the uks future relationship with the eu. As it was, they opted not to at the summit last week, saying there havent been sufficient progress yet, particularly on that very tricky point of britains divorce bill. How much money the u. K. azil e. U. Once its left the block. I think its making a lot of people nervous that we are not on that second stage as expected , because time is running out. Uncertainty is it doing anyone any good on the u. K. Side or the eu side. Im certain it doesnt help. Rumors and gossip dont help, either. Today, germanys favor, theresa may beg Eu Commission chief for help last week over dinner. What do we know about that . This really set the room a light this morning. Im going to read a couple more extracts to complete the picture of what this article was suggesting. It was saying that theresa may look anxious and tormented, desperate and desponding, and she had deep rings under her eyes, suggesting that she hadnt slept. So controversial with these comments that the even sparked 820 that with theresa mays former chief of staff suggesting that these remarks were leaked to the press by yonkers chief of staff. Juncker himself, denied ever having said it. I think what this shows is how easy it is for discord to arise between both sides. And also the extent to which people are really feeling like theres something going on behind the scenes that we are not sure about. There are plenty of rumors out there, thats for sure. Charlotte, thank you very much. The most recent polls suggest britain is split down the middle over brexit. In some cases, britain cannot wait to get out of the European Union. Is all about history . We visited hastings to find out. History is everywhere in hastings, and to our guide Erica Bennett knows all about it. There was a good view of the english channel. This is where the normans came over in 66, the last time england was invaded. The french have historically been britains biggest enemy. When the wind blew that way, the men of hastings went to raid fonts. When the wind blew this way, the french came and took their revenge. What does this animosity mean for the vote for brexit. The british people have a famously stubborn streak, can this be explained by the history . Is this quest for independence why they voted to leave the eu . Erica beran does not regret voting for brexit. It is regarded as an inflation of our liberties. What englishmen consider is theres my tradition consider is theirs by tradition. A few miles further inland, is the battle where the battle took place. People here who dont follow the brexit negotiations closely, but the u. K. Is on the right track, most think. I think we will be able to share the world. Maybe go it alone. I think we will succeed. Just a small island off the coast of europe. We are not really like europeans. I think its better that we just manage our own affairs. Even though it might hurt them financially, people here seem convinced that it will be worth it in the long run. Its all about realigning britain with the image it has of itself. Strong, and without too many tieso the continent. Returning the country back what british people feel, the better it should be, independent. Shaking off too much influence from the continent, the people of hastings are prepared to start a new chapter in the history books. From old history to know history, foreign firms have complained annexes to the burgeoning Chinese Market health. Is beijing willing to things up a bit . Theyre going to build a oneofakind Production Facility on the chinese mainland. The details are still being worked out, tesla reckons the factory could help cut production costs by a third. It has been capitalizing on chinas push to adopt electric cars drop the country. Throughout the country. Financial correspondent is on wall street, we can talk to him now. How important is this news for tesla . It could be a game changer, because overall if you look at it, one of the details for this deal would be that this Production Facility would be owned by tesla. So far, all of the Foreign Car Companies need a chinese partner. That hell probably would not have that included, and it would bring costs down quite a bit for tesla and china. Its the biggest market for electronic vehicles, this year alone, probably a bit more than double the electric vehicles will be sold in china in comparison to the u. S. If you look at tesla specifically, about 50 of their sales were generated in china. So far, china is not the big market for tesla, but that could change, even as the stock traded lower in the monday session. Is a big week for the market, with earnings season open 189 companies on the s p 500. Its the busiest week of this earnings season, by far. One reason that the stock market has risen so much in the past couple of months was due to the expectations that copper earnings actually will come in better than expected. We have just seen recently that we had some misses, that could put some pressure on the market. The stock of General Electric lost more than 6 in value after the company missed earnings expectations on friday. It was the first earnings miss in about 2. 5 years. Especially the focus will be on thursday, with the Big Tech Companies out with earnings. Amazon, google, microsoft, also on tuesday, will have General Motors or mcdonalds out with numbers. A lot depends on earnings if thats what we seen recently can continue. Plante look just look for two. Plenty to look forward to. The clouds continued to gather over germanys car industry. The European Commission has announced even more rates on offices of carmakers saying it was looking for evidence that it have violated eu antitrust rules. Investigators visited bmw offices on friday. To tackle field to admissions emissions, making it harder for those vehicles to take to the roads, unveiling a new tax. Drivers in Central London are used to bank extra on these roads. Now, another fee may be added for some. The toxic charge will be on additional 11 euros on top of the 10 euro congestion levy. The idea is to encourage those from the most polluted vehicles to stop driving into the heart of london. If they do, they have to pay an additional teach arch toxic charge. Not everyone comes with the new levy. Some Business Leaders feel it could affect small businesses, especially those in london and near the british capital. Its a big impact on business. Everyone is affected by this. Whether the new feed will indeed reduce traffic remains to be seen. What is clear is that london, like many other cities, is taking steps to lower vehicle emissions. Back over to brent to get you caught up with some german football action. In sundays action, baltimore struggled to get going this season, managing only four straight draws under new coach martin schmidt. Looking to stake a claim in the title race. We are aiming to stay in the mix at the top of the table as they paid to the visit hungry wolves. The home team blew a big chance when Maximilian Arnold saw his penalty stopped by, who somehow managed to get a boot on it.
