KALAMAZOO, MI -- New flight restrictions have been placed in advance of President Joseph Biden’s Friday visit to Portage.
The president’s planned visit on Thursday to the Pfizer facility just south of the airport on Portage Road was postponed due weather. Biden’s plane will be landing at Kalamazoo/Battle Creek International, Airport Director Craig Williams said.
The new flight restrictions are for private airlines, and run from 1:15 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Williams said. These restrictions are similar to what was set for in the original plans for the president’s visit on Thursday. It’s unlikely the restrictions on Friday will impact commercial flights at the airport, Williams said.
