Jonathan “Jonny” David Hendricks – age 14 of Holly. Jonny passed away peacefully Saturday, May 1, 2021, fighting off the effects of a long battle with leukemia. He faced every new challenge with confidence and determination; he never gave up, even when he was at his worst.  Jonny’s motto was, “Tough Times Don’t Last, Tough Kids Do!” Jonny may have lost the fight, but he won the battle; he was cancer free. Jonny was a kind, loving, generous person, with a magnetic personality, which left an unforgettable impression on everyone he met. He was honest, open and true to himself, and considered himself a pan-romantic, non-gendered, person who loved everyone. She was never afraid to express her opinion about something she truly believed in. Jonny’s goal in life was simply to be the best person that she could be. From the onset, at only six years old, her outlook on life was contagious. Even with all that she endured, Jonny remained calm and focused. She never got upset, instead just explaining that she was here for a purpose. She lived her life as she wished. For two years, Jonny spoke at multiple venues as the ambassador for The Children’s Miracle Network, sharing her story and empowering others to raise awareness about childhood cancer. She held bake sales and lemonade stands to raise money and give back to some of the organizations that gave to her and her family. Our precious angel has earned her wings. She will be forever remembered in our hearts. There will be a celebration of her life in the large pavilion at Lakeside Park in Holly, Saturday, May 22, at Noon. Service begins at 1 PM, with a luncheon immediately following. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations made on Jonny’s behalf to Camp Quality of Michigan, Mission of Love, Alex’s Arcade, or Ryan Rocks! Outdoor Adventures.
