John le Carre's wife dead: Author's spouse dies two months after him of 'a broken heart'

John had previously said she was instrumental in his success.
He stated: "In the time we have been together – admittedly never long – I have been content, and have written a great deal.
"When this last book was in shreds, it was she who helped me piece it together and make something of it. I find her compassionate, understanding and remarkably intelligent."

John was previously married to Alison Sharp in 1954, before they divorced in 1971.
The former couple have three sons: Simon, Stephen, and Timothy.
