A former car guard is bringing Durban flavour to the Gonubie beachfront, after local surfers and community members rallied together to kick-start Jay’s Hotspot. Jayanthran “Jay” Govender, 49, from Durban, came to East London with friends to sell bedding but was left abandoned in Quigney where he was robbed of his possessions in January.
