Jakim springs action plan to tackle illegal meat imports

THE Islamic Development Department (Jakim) has prepared an action plan to address the smuggling of non-certified meat into the country, says its deputy director-general of operations Abdul Aziz Jusoh.
In a statement today, he said Jakim would hold a discussion with the Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry (KPDNHEP), Malaysian Quarantine Inspection Services Department (Maqis) and Customs Department on January 5.
