While many industries suffered due to COVID-19, the furniture market has boomed as people have spent more time redecorating and improving their indoor living space. With its strong manufacturing facilities and proximity to furniture manufacturing talent sources, Asheboro has experienced the benefits of a furniture production boom.
Most recently, Jackson Furniture has decided to more than double their workforce here in Asheboro from 77 workers to approximately 200. Ever since the pandemic hit, Jackson Furniture's backlog (# incoming orders that have not been fulfilled) has increased sixfold even though their production capabilities have grown by 30%, according to Brandunn Rush, Senior Vice President of Sales at Jackson Furniture.
