Austin (KXAN) — Travis County DA Jose Garza and other leaders voiced concern about the return of former police chief Art Acevedo in a newly-created city position. They spoke at an event honoring plaintiffs of a 2021 lawsuit that alleged several offices, including APD which Acevedo lead at the time, failed to properly investigate sexual assaults between 2006 and 2019.
