Iowa woman arrested for burning and beating woman, charged with attempted murder

An Iowa woman was arrested on Monday after she allegedly set fire and assaulted a woman during an argument over a mutual love interest.
The Council Bluffs Police charged Lindsy Maves, 28, with attempted murder, first-degree arson and willful injury. According to investigators, Maves and the victim, Christine Weilage, knew each other.

Weilage, 37, was doused with a flammable substance and then lit on fire. Investigators said that a witness attempted to put the flames out, but before the Good Samaritan could help, Maves struck Weilage with an unknown object.
