The Iowa Department of Public Health releases the latest coronavirus data in real-time. KCCI provides a daily snapshot of the past 24 hours of statistics.As of 10 a.m. Friday, the Iowa DPH website reports 402,268 positive COVID-19 tests statewide since Iowa’s outbreak began, with an additional 97 positive tests confirmed in the past 24 hours. The Iowa DPH reported eight additional COVID-19 deaths, increasing the statewide death toll to 6,065.Of Iowa’s pandemic-related deaths, COVID-19 is reported as the underlying cause for 5,362 deaths. For 703 Iowans, COVID-19 was a contributing factor to their deaths.The website said 5,601 of the state’s deaths involved Iowans with preexisting conditions.According to the Iowa DPH vaccination dashboard, 2,787,821 total COVID-19 vaccines have been administered in Iowa.The dashboard reports that 1,258,081 individuals completed two-dose vaccinations and 112,355 individuals have completed single-dose vaccinations.The Iowa DPH reports 1,370,436 total completed vaccine series.According to the state’s website, a total of 5,075,583 individuals received COVID-19 tests. Iowa’s average reported positivity rate is 2.1% over the last 14 days.Iowa DPH reports 91 hospitalizations, of which 17 patients are in intensive care units. Iowa hospitals admitted 20 patients in the last 24 hours, compared to 13 hospitalizations the day before. The Iowa DPH reports three COVID-19 outbreaks among long-term care facilities in the state. COVID-19 outbreaks at long-term care facilities account for 2,368 of the state’s total deaths.
