Interstate 75 lane closures Henry, Clayton counties expected through August

STOCKBRIDGE — Except for holidays and during bad weather, lane closures will continue on Interstate 75 from Walt Stephens Road overpass to Ga. Highway 54 in Clayton County every weekend through August.
Crews are working to repair the roads, which requires closing all but one lane, either north or southbound from Friday evening through Monday morning.
The Georgia Department of Transportation said the closure extension is necessary due to recent inclement weather and the discovery of additional needed repairs.
“Upon removal of several of the concrete slabs, it has been discovered that the lower layers of roads material were in a condition that required additional time to repair,” GDOT officials said.
