IndyCar Opener Pushed Back, Moved to 'Big NBC'
The IndyCar season will now begin with four races in 15 days.
The Grand Prix of Alabama will take place on April 18
The season now features a record nine events on broadcast TV
The NTT IndyCar Series season opener at Barber Motorsports Park in Leeds, Alabama has been postponed again, this time moving back a week from Sunday April 11 to Sunday April 18.
The move allows the Honda Grand Prix of Alabama to be featured on NBC network television. A record nine races will air on over the air NBC in 2021.
The event will initiate a busy opening stretch for the IndyCar Series with four races in 15 days with the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg (April 25) and a doubleheader at Texas Motor Speedway (May 1-2) to follow.
