Inclusive America Project Statement on January 6th Insurrection
At the Inclusive America Project, we call upon ourselves, our neighbors, and our leadership, to always choose the ideals of democratic rule, to hold tight to what makes this country great – our differences.
Yesterday, in an attempt to halt the certification of the election and the peaceful transfer of power this country has embraced since the first President of the United States stepped down nearly 223 years ago, the current occupant of the White House chose instead to incite a mob of supporters to attack the U.S. Capitol building.
In response, over the last two days, social and traditional media have been awash in either/or declarations that “this is not who we are” or that, “this is exactly who we have always been, but we are now unmasked.”
