Kengeri on Vrishabhavathi river bed along with
the geological department. The sand gets extracted in the night and is smuggled during the early hours.
Hemant, a member of Rise Up for Rights, said that the group had been closely following the sand mining activities in Kengeri. This is what they observed: The accused would take the sand during the early hours on the Vrishabhavathi river bed in Kengeri. He said, “On December 7, we noticed sand mining happening and approached the police seeking their help.
