I wanted to open up a new card that had a great sign-up bonus, required a low initial spend to receive that bonus, and either had no annual fee or a low annual fee. I decided on the Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card.

The card currently offers an increased welcome bonus: Earn 100,000 bonus miles once you spend $20,000 on purchases within the first 12 months from account opening (or 50,000 miles if you spend $3,000 on purchases within the first 3 months). There is an annual fee of $95, which is relatively common for credit cards with more attractive rewards and benefits. Some of the other cards I looked into offered similar bonus rewards (of around 80,000 miles) but required a $4,000 spend in purchases for the first three months.
