Hyland Software lays off over 100 workers, announces new jobs headed overseas [cleveland.com]
CLEVELAND, Ohio — Hyland Software, the Westlake based software company, is laying off nearly 140 employees while adding new jobs overseas.
Prior to the layoffs, Hyland had more than 4,000 employees worldwide and was ranked as one of the largest tech companies in Northeast Ohio.
Hyland announced the cuts are apart of a “multi-year strategic initiative to build a cloud-first platform for the future while supporting our customers’ success today,” in a company-issued statement.
The layoffs mainly affected those apart of the Product Delivery team.
According to Hyland, the cuts are one component of its strategy. The company plans to hire more than 300 additional technologists and increase its overall employee count by 15 percent in 2021.
