A 'persistent domestic abuser' who knifed his wife to death at a derelict former mental health hospital has been jailed for 23 years for her murder.
Michael Cowey, 49, told 38-year-old mother-of-three Gemma Cowey he wanted to meet to talk with her but confronted her about relationship issues which led to an argument.
He took two knives he had hidden in his socks and stabbed her 20 times in the back and neck in the grounds of the former St Andrew's Hospital at Thorpe St Andrew near Norwich.
Gemma's mother said in a victim impact statement her family have 'nightmares' about the 'pain and fear' which she 'felt in her final moments'.
