LANSING – Several hundred supporters of President Donald Trump gathered for a peaceful demonstration outside the Capitol in Lansing on Wednesday, many of them clinging to a faint hope that the results of the Nov. 3 election could still be overturned.
More than a dozen carried rifles slung over their shoulders. Others carried U.S. flags, Trump flags, and signs with messages such as "Stop the steal" and "Fake virus."
Organizers blasted over the Capitol lawn in Lansing a live feed of Trump's remarks to thousands of supporters at the Ellipse, near the U.S. Capitol. But unlike in Washington, D.C., nobody in the Lansing crowd attempted to push their way inside the Capitol, which was closed Wednesday.
