Hong Kong: Pest control strengthened
The inter-departmental Pest Control Steering Committee held a meeting today via video conferencing to discuss measures in preparation for targeted pest control work in the coming year.
Representatives from three bureaus, and 21 departments and organisations attended the meeting.
They reviewed the effectiveness of various departments' anti-mosquito and anti-rodent work.
The Food & Environmental Hygiene Department (FEHD) reported the preliminary results of the pilot scheme of applying thermal imaging cameras with artificial intelligence analytics in rodent control work.
Since the first half of this year, the department has conducted thermal imaging camera field trials in back alleys in Kowloon City and designated target areas for recording rodent activity and its extent.
